Household electricity bills will rise by as much as a quarter to pay for wind farms and other forms of renewable energy, according to a new report.
The study challenges the Government’s claims that energy bills will actually fall in the next eight years because of energy efficiency savings.

Does this mean that the government has been somewhat economical with the truth? Crikey! I'd never have thought it. ::) ::) ::)

It doesn't come as any surprise sadly - then any government which includes the names of liberal, democrat, coalition, conservative or labour will hardly do anything to sensibly address the future energy needs of this country and its citizens.
the roll-out of 'smart’ meters to help control and monitor energy consumption;
That says it all really - if you want energy you'll have to pay handsomely for it and, when the time comes for the generating capacity to struggle with demand, you are likely to have it rationed by remote means or pay more for it at peak demand times: Monies paid, by in large, into the coffers of foreign concerns.
