Why do women always seem to take the responsibility for the recycling?  ???

Yes - it is totally bizarre - virtually a hobby - no sooner do I open a box than someone is sniffing round to take it off my hands, crush or rip it and run off to my recycling centre. The elderly are even worse and despite telling my lot to leave it for us to do - both sets of parents have had bad falls doing the trip to the bins and in the MIL's case it was the "tipping" point to going really downhill in health terms. I am sure it is an addiction - some sort of linkage between getting rid of bits and pieces and thinking you have  a tidy house - or you have nothing else to do perhaps. My father has just come out of hospital having fallen picking some bit of paper off the floor. Mind you with him the biggest item on his weekly shopping list is cigars and whiskey so there could be mitigating circumstances here ;D
