right, here we go again....ran the 3l out of gas last week.
went & filled her up today, on switchover it cuts straight out, can hear the injectors ticking but cuts out.
checked fuses & all seems ok. seems as though it has no gas but its got a full tank.
Any help please on this or it will be going, ive just about had it with this car. >:(

Is the evaporator/vaporiser cold?

Is the evaporator/vaporiser cold?
nope, nice & warm. not frozen up. :y
-
What system is it, can you do any form of diagnostic code reading?
-
its romano, i dont have any diag equiptment tbh.
-
is there a way to bleed the system, could be an airlock
-
Check that both the solenoids are actually firing when the power is sent to release the gas. Sounds like either a trigger wiring fault or knackered solenoid to me, but that's just a guess from the symptoms ;)
I'm assuming you've tried several times and it's not just got a drop of vapour in the lines from running out (although it shouldn't) ???

when i switch over....give it a blip & you can hear the ticking, seems like no gas. ive tried it several times.
was wondering about a blockage/air lock but as you say it shouldnt happen.
???
-
paul, could the filter be blocked?.
-
Given it happened when it did, I'm thinking airlock as well. Anything else is too coincidental.

ive checked the filter & its clear. how can i get rid of an air lock?. :)
-
need to release some gas as close to engine as possible,at a union if there is 1 fitted,
-
The filter should of been ok as it was a new one fitted just before you bought her Jon :-X
-
Maybe try to keep force starting it on gas?
-
tried it with the pipe off the vapourisor(outlet) when it switchs over, nowt comes out at all. ???
-
Pop it down to me next week , this is an error that need clearing in the softwareI remember the issue from before with this kit :y

There should be an option in the software that this doesn't need resetting every time it runs out of gas :-\

Have you checked that the solenoids are getting switched? Just because you can hear a click doesn't mean that both are getting a live trigger ;) The fact you have nothing coming through, I would check the front one first (as I expect it's the rear solenoid you can hear clicking).
Oh, and apologies for not replying sooner... I forgot all about this thread :-[

paul, im not up at all on lpg, the solenoids as you call them, it has 3 per bank? or am i not getting this wrong.
outlet from evap goes to filter, splits & goes to 1 bank & 2nd bank. ???
-
Good gas pressure at vapouriser inlet?
(SAFETY - be desperately careful you can get severe burns from the the gas - it will be that cold under pressure)

They are the injectors (although they are solenoids).
The solenoids Cripple is on about are the solenoids on the valve at tank, and at vapouriser. Actually, wonder if one has a resettable switch.....

i will get my head under it tommoz. :y

When the RIS kit (eg this one) throws a critical error, the light on the gas switch will flash and it will not run on gas whatever you do, until you log into the software and clear the code.
So no, LD, running out of gas shouldn´t log this error, I agree - but given the way the RIS - RIS/N Kits work, the codes are the very first thing to check if it´won´t run on gas

james, the only day i/we are available are tuesday or friday. will it be a case of doing it in the day or....?
:y
-
James.................can you please read your pm, i need the info ASAP.
thanks. :y
-
this is still ongoing.
here goes, i have a full tank of gas...yes ive checked,
checked the front solenoid for power & operation...it works
checked the solenoid at the tank...it has power but thats about it, are these easy to sort out, dont want to start tampering & blow my head off. ::)
had my diag stuff on it but it shows no faults at all.
any ideas peeps. ???
-
So you've been into the lpg ecu and reset the code James was talking about and, presumably, changed a setting to stop it happening again...?

it doesnt show any faults at all chris. thats the baffling thing.
-
So back to a fault with the kit...?
-
its got me bamboozled tbh, it will switch over, injectors cut in, engine dies. checked front solenoid for operation & thats ok. checked the feed to sol on tank & thats ok, without having ten foot arms i cant tell if the tank sol is working on switchover. as im not getting gas down to the front im guessing the tank sol is u/s.
:-\

On mine it's possible to hear the tank solenoid click when gas cuts in. ...?
That's not to say yours will too, but just a thought.

remove carpet and gas tight box? Should be well audible then.
