My dad has a 2000 CDX Estate with the CCR2006 installed.
He's never had it working since he bought it as it needs the code putting in....
Problem: When he turns it on, he gets "7 SAFE" and is unable to enter the code at all, even following the manual on how to enter it from the start ???
Any suggestions please?
TIA :y

As you turn it on press AS and the on button together holding AS down. Then it let's you enter the code. Although mine would only do it with ignition on
-
He's tried that Andy, it won't allow him to do anything >:(
-
I think the '7 safe' is the number of attempts left to enter the code. When I got mine it was the same, but turning the ignition on and following the guide sorted it for me.
I would consider either removing the unit altogether, or even disconnecting the battery to try a 'reboot' of the unit. Taking the fuse out for a minute may be the easiest way to start, but not guaranteed to disconnect enough of the power.

Cheers for that Jonny, although as he doesn't use the car much, his battery dies fairly often already so it's been "dead" a few times and has made no difference...bloody thing, lol

Yes, the 2006 seems to have a mind of its own ::)

Ignition on, leave radio on until "CODE" shows in display, then input
-
Thats right! Forgot about that :-[
There was a suggestion that you could drive or leave car running for up to two hours to reset this, but I just left the ignition on for a time until the 'code' displayed as Rob says.
Nice one Rob :y

My dad has left his car running and with just ignition on as well for over 4hours with no result. It doesn't want to allow a code to be entered :(
At this rate, a replacement unit will be needed.
Is it best to stick to the same model or is there a better one to use instead?
-
We can reset them if you are locked out or have forgotten your code

Cheers Dave, I'll ask my dad and see what he would like to do and let you know. I must admit, it's a good idea though and less hassle. What is the turn around time usually please?
Kind regards, Dave
