For some reason I can't post in the problems area but hey.
Anyway, I had my short holiday down to cornwall over the weekend and I noticed if I press the brakes enough to operate the ABS, it has like a metallic grinding noise/humming. I wondered if this was a common problem, my guess is it's the whole pump on it's way out. Never come across that before.

that is the abs working properly does make like grinding noise as brakes go on and off rapi :yadly

Oh right, so it is suppose to do that??
With the car I got a load of history and there is a receipt for the ABS module to be stripped, cleaned and rebuilt. Just wondered as I've never heard a pump doing that :)

when the road is wet or icy ie winter or you have to apply brakes extra hard and the front wheels try to lock up this is when the abs kicks in and the electronics side off the braking system applies your brakes on and off in a rapid motion causing like a grinding noise but if brakes are applied normal and you get grinding check your brake pads pads are worn down to metal :-X

Yeah I know that bit, cheers for telling me but I'm a mechanic myself. That's why I wondered if the pump noise was a common thing on the Omegas. I work at a Renault/Kia dealership and all the cars I've driven I have never heard an ABS pump sound like it does lol
