Title: Smoke from under the bonnet on first start?
Post by: tgm147 on 09 June 2012, 12:40:53
Hi guys.

Got a bit of a random one today. Jumped in, shut the door, turned the key and as the car was turning over (as normal, turns over 2 or 3 times then kicks into life) a relatively big cloud of what can only be described as white smoke shot out of the scuttle. The car started fine and ticked over as normal (rough as hell with the cracked manifold) and seemed fine. I lifted the bonnet but couldn't see anything. The car was stone cold - it hadn't been driven since last night.

Any ideas? That worried me slightly to the point of thinking oh balls, the car's on fire.

Power sounder?

I thought that but not heard a peep from it and the smoke came from the wrong side. Should have said in the first post. Came from the passenger side of the car.
