The headline down here is, we had a months rain in 24 hours
out and about I spotted several cars abandoned in awkward spots
towards the end of the video (2.32) the water lies right acrosss the road.

No different to some of the roads round here mate ::) ;)

We had a few spots & nothing else. It was very overcast all day & looked like it would rain.
-
it was baking hot in the morning then the heavens opened great fun drivin home through lakes on the road the kids loved it :y
-
Who needs wellies when you can splash through the puddles in a car ;D much fun had doon here :y
-
It's ok at that sort of speed and visibility. M3 south was appalling for visibility. Poor road surface I guess, although the level of standing water hadn't reached the level in the video.
Swimming.... ;D

Weekend before last on the motorway was awful, never seen it as bad as it was, had to stick at 50 mph all the way home pretty much. Been raining here a lot too, back to coats on now. Can't wash the cars, do any work or nothing :(.
-
on the m 20 at junction 8 they had to close it weekend before last has drains could not cope with the amount of water falling...now about this drought??... :y

Met a mate of mine last night. He's got a Defender TDi with a snorkel. Arrived with a grin on his face. Flooded railway bridge with huge traffic jam. He just cruises through with the water half way up the windscreen. ;D

In a Defender I bet he got a wet arse :D ;D

Yes, the in car cameras are great - I've ordered a BlackVue 400HD, but the images they reproduce can be a bit of a double-edged sword sadly - should one decide to publish them. :-X

I suspect so. He remembered, just in time, to close those little vents under the windscreen, but his battery was swimming around in the seat box. ;D

i would have to question that.... :-\ the days of everyday Land Rovers doing that are gone, I had an ex army series 3 everything was sealed, all the electrics etc so was fine in deep water, brakes did not work afterwards though.... ::) ::)
Surly modern vehicles, with or without snorkels have too many electrical sensors, etc for them to get wet and continue to work OK.... ::) ::) I accept that vehicles can be waterproofed fully for specialised use..... :y

older 200/300 Tdi's will quite happily run in deep water with a snorkel, not sure I would chance a Td5 though and deffo not my v8 with electric everything :-\

Yep, the engine in this one doesn't use anything more exotic than clockwork. Certainly no electronics. ;)
