i am getting a sort of groaning/clunking noise from what seems like the rear passenger side back wheel. This only seems to happen when the car is in 'D' but with footbrake on, say at a junction or traffic lights. Any ideas guys?? :(

Notoriously difficult to describe noises and even harder to diagnose over the 'net :(
Sounds to me like it may be brake related though so I'd start by looking at the rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes

i know what you mean mate, will have a nose!

Best way to diagnose noises is to have an assistant replicate the circumstances on the drive, while you nose about. Obviously make sure assistant doesn't run you over. ;)
Bouncing suspension from the boot or rocking side to side is often helpfull.
...IME. :)

Could be rear donut bushes ... i get a groan from the back as the car squats down when on handbrake/footbrake and going in "D".
I know my rear donuts are needing done though ... had a go but quickly gave in :-[

if its clunk clunk clunk, bang bang bang and alters with speed its hand brake retainer spring or springs come off the hand brake shoe. :y
