Those cheap units really are nasty. Remember you will need suitable maps for satnav, god knows how available they will be.

Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Stay away from them. Seriously. I bought one second hand from a mate stripping his car and he paid over £400 for it new and to be honest it was crap. The sound quality was awful, the interface was clunky, didn't work very well and was obviously translated from Chinese because sometimes an error message would pop up in the wrong language, the touch screen was crap and the screen was very dim. The sat-nav wasn't very reliable either!

Buy a cheaper Sony, Pioneer or Alpine double din unit. Even one of the second hand Kenwood ones would be an improvement on those cheap Ebay ones!

ive got a simlar unit in my toyota 4x4, as others have said the sound output is crap,reception is crap, the tv is in anolouge so when the digital phased in all over will also be useless, even the ipod only works on the left channel, only decent thing is the dvd player as keeps daughter happy on long journeys, most sat nav software does work on them but again i wouldnt bother, mines running one they give you to download and it only a evaluation copy, if your route less than a hr your fine else it cuts off and you start again,im going to pull it out of there when i get the patch lead for the genuine toyota unit ive sourced

No, please don`t.

Whilst I always welcome the emails and phone calls from you guys, that piece of ebay shite (and similar) causes more grief that you would believe. When people find that it is a piece of junk, parts are not available, they cannot be repaired and that the suppliers couldn`t give a stuff - Its usually my repair centre guys that get the full brunt of the owners anger when they realise that they have wasted their money. We probably get half a dozen calls a day for similar type of cheap shite imports and we are sick of it. If you cannot afford a brand new quality branded radio, then go for a cheap secondhand branded radio, but NEVER buy a cheap import brand that you have not heard of nor see retailed in shops in the UK.

If only . . .  ::)

Just as a "for instance", if you search the bay of E, you will find a significant number of secondhand Pioneer AVIC double din head units, now whilst they would not necessarily be my own personal choice, (nowt wrong with them, I just prefer Clarion) many are only around 12 months old and come absolutely ram jammed with features from a well respected manufacturer - searches for Kenwood and Clarion will bring up similar.

A secondhand Pioneer which was around £700~£900 new can be picked up for £120~£200 with a warranty

So why on earth would anyone look at a piece of unreliable Chinebay shite that costs more than this?

I really don`t understand ?   :-\

Got one of those fitted in the Omega and love it. Bought it brand spankers for just over 200 quid if I remember right including all the cables.
