Hi all,
Just been out to remove my centre console to find the NCDC facia is broken and just comes off. I'm now struggling to get the radio unit out :(
Is there any suggestions please?
TIA :y

Engaged the radio keys?
If still stubborn, there is a chassis rail in the CD changer slot at the bottom a sturdy hook shaped tool can be hooked round there to add extra welly. It's a real wince and cringe job though. And as you've found, pulling on the facia sides is always going to end in tears.
They can be a real sh@t to get out.

Cheers Chris!
The facia was already broken, never noticed til I put the keys in to remove the unit :(
Without the facia on, I'm having trouble locating where the key pins go, but I'll check out that hooking point you suggested :y

Be sure not to pull on the carriage obviously. Not sure I needed to say that, but better safe...

Probably a bit late in the day, but you still need removal keys, even with gayboy's method

Hi all, sorry for lack of updates :-[
I did get the radio out, without any damage too, although the hammer was on stand-by ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'd picked up a replacement unit from Brickhead for my dad, so looking at that, I was able to locate where the "keys" would go into the unit as the facia was off, I couldn't tell ???
With a little bit of wriggling, I got the unit out :D :D :D :D :D
Buttons on the aircon replaced with better one's, damaged plastics replaced and all put back together again........AND working ::) ::) ::) ::)
Thanks for the advice guys :y

Finally got my radio out after lots of pulling and swearing.
The answer as previously mentioned is to file an edge on the radio keys to give them enough grip to pull out the unit.
Bought my removal keys from ebay (supposedly top quality) and although they release the catches when pushed into the radio, there was little or no grip to pull the radio out.
Making 'an edge' on the two inside prongs does the trick
