Had my wishbone bushes replaced and got the powerflex ones on there about a month ago, went on holiday 2 weeks ago and the rain was hurrendous, came home, and last week when the weather cleared up, something started creaking on the front end, it only does it when going over speed humps as ive got to go over quite a few to get to work, any ideas on what it could be? :-\
-
could be the bushes on front part of the anti-rollbar,?
-
that was exactly my thought, stupid me spayed them with wd40 the other day, but no difference, although, the creaking disappears when its raining and driving through rain :-\
-
are the rubbers on drop links and tie rods still sealed, could of got some water in there?
-
what do you mean by 'still sealed'? . Both drop links have been replaced recently, so has the O/S track rod end. I think water has got in somewhere because the amount of driving i was doing in the rain was a lot, also whilst driving in this damn heavy rain, there were also large speed humps at the campsite i was staying at, so the heavy rain and big speed humps have obviously caused something :-\
-
when i went through a ford last year the water poped of the ball joint seals and started creaking a few days later put some new grease in and it stop creaking.
-
ok, im not too good with mechanics on a car, but will sure have a go, so, take the front wheels off, i know that there is a white cap of somesort on the drop links, check those and re-grease? and what kind of grease?
-
i used some drive shaft grease think it was 30p sachet and motorworld, what part is the white cap? you not left the plastic cover on when you fixed mig did you?
-
garage fixed it for me but i recall seeing two white circular thingys at the top and bottom, not too sure to be honest, but ill get some of that grease at the weekend and i shall have another look at it, and ill have another look at the anti-roll bar bushes, cheers :y
