We need to know if everyone was alright...........................

the car that hit the van..did he come from an off ramp ??
-
Jesus!
Wondered what the van was breaking for. On second viewing, only then spotted a car coming on, or something like...?
I ain't watching it again to check.

Yes,it looked to me like the car turned into oncoming traffic.

Crazy video. Good find, Henry. :y

Christ that made me jump. Horrible to think that could happen :(.

Christ that made me jump. Horrible to think that could happen :(.
And happen so quickly :-X
-
that was real bad

A second can completely change lives, that looked bad, I hope at least the innocent parties were okay. I can't believe anybody got out of the car alive, as car v lorry at speed normally only has one outcome. :'( :'( :'(

OMG no more please, I guess they did not survive, it shows how easy something can happen, we often hear of stories like this on the approach to Christmas, or perhaps we are more sensitive to them at this time...... :( :( :(

Do we really need to keep posting videos where people have probably died ? Its ghoulish imo. :(
-
Too true Albs :-\ but, if you rewatch the first vid the car that caused that carnage is quite obvious for a long time before the truck starts braking.
Just goes to show the scope of what you should be taking in whilst driving along the road :o won't necessarily change the outcome, but having a wider field of view further up the road instead of focusing on the road/vehicle immediately in front might just save your life...

Well said, too many people do not look far enough ahead, and take the 'whole' into consideration..... :( :(

I'd tend to agree with that, despite the potential educational properties (which Al pointed out) :-\

I think it's worth being informed* of these things for the educational value, and as a reminder that we're not wrapped in cotton wool.
* - Not necessarily seeing them in video, but if that's the only means by which they are presented...
As the registered keeper of an aircraft the CAA send me regular bulletins listing reports of every accident and incident that has been reported. I read all that are relevant to a glider pilot, and, once or twice, I've been doing something around the airfield or in the glider and thought "ahh.. someone came a cropper doing exactly this". It may be morbid to watch other people's mistakes, but each time a little information sinks in and makes you a little less likely to make the same mistake, IMHO.
Maybe the DVLA should do the same, although we'd probably all end up with a publication the size of a phone book to wade through each month. :o

My sentiments exactly. Too often you see things ahead and it's blatantly obvious the driver a few vehicles in front has not seen clocked it. Its frightening, very frightening.
