Cracking cars, they had better engines than the Omega was given!

5 days to go , i can see that fetching a fair bit of wonga . Once in a lifetime buy ...getting lotto ticket tomorrow :)
-
Shame its poverty spec and missing 12 valves, but still nice. :y
-
Poverty spec?
It has all the toys inc dual zone climate control - only missing the leather but TBH thats a bonus. The leather seats in those are not very supportive and you end up sliding off the sides when cornering.
The cloth was a no cost option and IMHO the better option.
The 12v engine has been shown time and again to be the more reliable of the 3.0 engines and have enough poke to keep most people happy.
I'd love to give that a home!

Just been out bid on this - will bide my time ;)
-
im sure ive seen that ad on here before but it wasnt that car,it was something like a commadore or an earlier version of that car but it was worded the same ???
-
If that was just a few years older I'd go for it and salt it away until it turned 30 whereupon it would cost a paltry fifty euro a year to tax over here .
That's a bloody nice car.

If you really want it go for it,be difficult to find one better, superb looking car :y :y

Snipe bidding mate :y

I reckon that might get up around £6-7000.. especially if a couple of enthusiasts start counter-bidding :(

It's the poverty spec because it wasn't the CD model ;), I used to have exactly the same model and same age of car. ALL Senators had dual climate, but CD had air con, this car doesn't. ;) ;)
-
I stand corrected - I thought I saw the aircon switches but was mistaken.
Having said that it's one less thing to go wrong so I'd still jump at it!

Check out the other car they have listed...
A 1988 Rover 213S with only 14 miles on it!! :o Amazing story behind it to.
My first car was a 1985 213 Vanden Plas, and seeing this has brought back some very happy memories!! ;D

A few years back one of our local garages had a Morris Minor 1000 for sale with under 200 miles guaranteed from new! There's still a few about ;)
-
Bought to sell on again, was advertied for around £4000,a mate of mine had considered going for it but his other car didn't sell

So that gives an indication as to what the reserve price might be..... :)

Not having air con just means you don't need to take the bits out and dump them, because it'll be an R12 system and I'd be extremely surprised if it still works. Only way to make it work would be to convert to R134.
-
No digital dash though. Senator must have a digital dash. ;)
-
amazing car should be in a museum in that condition. good luck to who ever wins it :y
-
I'm getting the urge to have a bid on the Rover and the Senator, they're both absolutely stunning :y.
-
My mate said that there was also slight damage to the roof according to the original seller, sure he had pics,i will try to get them.

And even then you`d be lucky ;D
