Interesting articles, wonder what the rear LED lights look like? Never seen and on this side of the pond

There is a picture of the rear of the car on the 2001 article, showing the LED lights.  It looks like they have changed the bootlid as well so probably not anything we can fit to ours unfortunately.

The lids will swap but the tail light units are shaped differently. Swapping Omega tail lights for Catera units isn't as easy as it seems. For both the pre-facelift and facelift Omegas you would need the Catera boot lid.

The pre-facelift Catera (97-99) had a full width light/reflector lid that would work with the Omega lights because both cars share the outer units .

This American owner used an Omega boot lid with lights to give his custom Catera a rear fascia unique on this side of the Pond.

Facelift Omegas lid lights had rounded corners versus the 2000-2001 Catera's sharper ones. The outer units of both cars are shaped the same so the Catera units should slip right in but a little body work would be necessary to reshape the lid's cutouts to accept the Catera units. That or buy a facelift Catera lid.

Some trouble but would be a nice custom trick for the Omega though. The wide thin light strip is our center mount brake light. It uses LEDs while the other tail units are incandesant.

I really had to join your site, just to let you know, that wrong what you tell about the Catera tail lights for the omega facelift.

I'va built my omega with the catera tail. I also bought the lid and got it imported from the States to Denmark. I also thought that the lights wouldn't fit on a regular trunk lid. Hovever the lid lights is actually one part. It's mounted with app 7 screws in the lid. Between the lights you have to mount the plast part. Thats all.

Also it's no problem to built on the lights only. ;)
