Title: Howe to calibrate CID with tech2
Post by: furion on 27 June 2012, 23:19:53
Hello
I have just instaled a ncdr with CID and cdc3 into my Omega.
The system works fine, and when i plug in my tech2,I get contact with the ncdr and the cdc3 but not the cid.
I would like to calibrate the BC but I can`t get in.
any one that know what the problem is? this system is from a Astra G so i think that the settings in the BC is programed for that car,not my 3.0 Omega.

Hope someone know what to do.
Thanks

I just what to add that my index code is 22,maybe that should be another number for the Omege???

i'm no expert, but it's my understanding that the astra and vectra units do not work in the omega....   the communication method being slightly different??   i could be wrong though......   (although i have a vague memory of someone saying you could swap some pins round somewhere.....   )

thus CID's for the omega being so hard to find and expensive....  coz they're rare, and in ever decreasing supply....

They do work (as that is what mine had).

There is a mode pin that has to be set (pin 1 from memory although could be 32?, needs a 0V (ground) connection) so if retro fitting this needs including. If its a replacement then something is wrong as the wiring should be correct.

The mode pin sets the programming mode  :y

As MDTM suggests, connect pin 1 to pin 32, else you won't be able to communicate with the unit.

Your TIS200/GlobalTIS will give you the correct code index to use. 3.2 is 74, 3.0 I think is 45 (from memory).

Thanks for replying.
Should the conection between pin 1 and 32 be permanently attached or just a loop in between when programing?
if I remember right, pin 32 is empty in my grey plug.

Allso my car is a 1996,I have replaced the yello(26) and the black(12) plug with a grey(32).
I tested the car with a MID from a 1998 and everything works fine. I haven't used my tech2 on this MID because everything was working as I should.i don't have xenon so the black/purple xenon levling thing is just blinded.this came up as an error.

OK, look at TIS2000/GlobalTIS/Web2TIS to find correct CI for your engine/gearbox/lighting/soundsystem/wheels etc combination. I assume you have access to these tools, as Tech2 isn't that useful without these resources.

when I bought the tech2,i got 2cd's one of them i believe had the writing TIS2000 on it.
I shall fix the pin32 to ground asap. 8)

State the following, and I'll look up the CI for you

Engine:
Gearbox: (Auto/Manual)
HIDs fitted: (Yes/No)

Fairly certain it should be 44 for that, but let me confirm first when I get out my laptop.

That is a toggle that is presented when you do the programming.

I have put pin32 to 0(ground) but still the tech2 said no comunication with vehicle.
I have checked that the wiering is ok

Should the tech2 speak to the CID througe diagnostic pin 8 to pin 14 (32 pol cid), or should it go througe ncdr by pin 7 on the diagnostic?

Can high + Can low is just betwene ncdr and Cid??

and should pin 8 and 9 in in 32pol cid be removed, can these cause any trouble if i leave them in?

Purely from memory, I thought CID was on diag pins 6...

yes i saw that in another thred,my MID is on pin8,should a direct wiere from CID pin14 to pin6 on diagnostic do the trick?

nope that didn`t work.
according to my wiereschmatic for a facelift,Diagnostic is on pin8 - pin14(tid,mid,gid and cid)
Do anyone have a wiere schematic from a 10pol to a 20pol?
from CID pin 8 or 9 goes to pin17 in my 10pol.but from there its empty into my 20pol,anyone knows if this should be like that or do i miss this wiere?

Dosn`t CID suport Check control?
Do I have to disable that?,if so do I have to do that when the old MID is still in the car?

When you program the CI on the CID, you have the option to disable certain functions, check control being one of them.

Yes, my poor memory ;D

Diags pin 8 to CID pin X34/14.  Pins 1 and 32 need to be at 0v

then I don`t know what to do............ could it be my tech2 that is missing something?
Howe I use my tech2.¨'
1. press power
2.select  diagnos
3.select year (2001)
4.select model(have tested Astra G,Vectra B,Omega B.)
On Omega B I dont have the ncdr, only ncdc and ccrt i think)
5.select infotainment
6.select ncdr and cdc they work.
7.select GID or CID no comunication with the car.....if i chose 1998 and MID it pops right up.(with MID of course)

Got some progress to day.
I know that the wiering is ok,we tryed a "My Naff Code Reader" and that came into the CID.But there was no posibility to change or upload anything.
So now im whondering way I cant get in with my tech2.

Check the lead on the Tech2 then.  Also may be worth disconnecting other ECUs on Pin8.

Do NOT attempt programming these units with "My Naff Code Reader", as it has a habit of damaging the units, and few people can repair them.
