Title: David Beckham not selected
Post by: Richie London on 28 June 2012, 16:34:04
Is very disappointed he has not been selected for team gb. should he automatically be picked because he is part of the gang who secured the Olympics. ? In football terms he's an old man now and i don't think he should be selected just because of who he is. He will be getting in for nothing and free meals everyday as it is.

What's your opinion??

After the Simonie sending off incident when he got slated by everybody, I must admit I started to look at him in a different light.
The amount of abuse he recieved was bordering on the sick but the way he kept his mouth shut and took it all on the chin really impressed me and to be honest, I think it really made him  :y

People slag him off "in football terms" by saying he can't beat his man blah blah blah but has they ever been a better right foot in english football ?
That free kick against Greese in injury time to get us threw to the world cup was out of this world.  And thats after missing around 10 chances before it  :y
The amount of work he does with charities and young kids that never makes the papers is simply incredible  :)

Imho, his workrate, attitude and influence in the changeing room would have been first class and he should have been included on that lot alone  :y

Stuart Pearce has f**ked up imo  :(

AGREED >:( >:(

I think he would have been a great talisman, an inspiration to the team and a fitting tribute in the autumn of his career. :(

I think Martin Samuel in the Daily Mail nails it in this article....  :y

I have alot of respect for Becks, but I think Pierce has done the right thing!  :)

Said tub of lard was on Radio 4 yesterday too.

"But he was instrumental in securing the olymic bid"
"So was Seb Coe. Perhaps we should get him to do the mens' 800 metres?"
"Er.. Um.. :-X"

Don't think it matters who we pick. Can't see us with a medal.

David beckham wants to stick to modeling and being a pretty boy

I see beckham but i dont see a footballer

If he had carried the torch it would be like lifting victoria up because its about the same width!
