Title: Vauxhall Masterfit MOT for £27
Post by: PAULCDX on 02 July 2012, 16:54:53
Hi,

Has anybody had any experience or thoughts on the Vauxhall Masterfit MOT test offer for £27?

Was handed a voucher from a mate today who printed it off the Masterfit website. Seems a good price for an MOT but I'm guessing there will prob be a re-test fee?

Got my MOT to book soon and was just wondering if this seemed like a good deal or not  :-\

Thanks in advance  :y

Paul  ;)

I prefer to go somewhere they don't do repairs and pay the full VOSA recommended amount... Then they have nothing to gain ;)

That said, I have used the same garage for the last 6 years for all of the family cars (7/8 MOT's a year) and they know me and know they don't get the work for repairs so are sensible :y

If you take advantage of the offer, expect a fail and quote for work IMHO >:( After all... £27 isn't even enough for the labour time to do the test ::)

I think it's luck of the draw to be honest, father T gets lots of comments each year he takes it there. Last time was "Shame they do not make these any more!"

I've seen a few comments about these and they all say you get a good non-biased MOT as they aren't interested in failing to make money on repairs etc

I guess this is another option open to me but I need to find one first lol, I know my local council don't do them ( or so I'm told ) but I'm sure I can find one nearby  :y

Don't for GODS sake go to Halfords,go to a proper test centre and pay the extra pennies.

I don't remember council run MOT stations, but there are  at least a couple of MOT only centres in the Medway towns. Nearest to you would be Stirling Park MOTs, at the end of Laker Rd behind Comet.

I've always used Hazel Motors, who know that they won't be getting the repair work, are just down the road from me, have never failed a car on anything I could complain about, and give me the trade price of £35.
