Post by: Greg2041 on 08 July 2012, 15:01:11
The AA sub-contractor has given up.  Any ideas?

My car is a 3 litre V6.

Thank you

Greg

What has lead to the diagnosis of fuel pump?

Have you read the codes?

Sounds like crank sensor mate. Duff sensor = no fuel delivery :)

Thanks guys.  What would I do without you.  :y  Fault codes.  Would the AA know about them - or their sub-contractor?

If it is a crank sensor, dare I ask cost of part and labour.  Be gentle with me!

I'll check when it stops pelting down with rain.  Are Crank sensors dear or difficult to fit? :-\

I believe the sensor is around £70. Takes 5 minutes (and one torx socket) to change.should be info in the guides. :y

What a pain.  Yup, a faulty crankshaft sensor and now it starts but it takes ages and ages to do so and there is a loud click every now and again when starting.  Now it won't start again.

Any more ideas?  :'(

HELP!

'Tis indeed a mystery.  The garage assured me that it was a genuine part but I guess even they can become faulty - Unless it is a wire somewhere?

Yup, a change in crankshaft sensor again sorted the problem.  This site is the best!  :y
