Hi, I think my Omega is too low, it always bump down on speed humps and I m afraid that one day it will burst the exhaust. I have checked the shock aborber they are in good condition and recently have passed MOT. Can you please give me some suggestions on how should I resolve this. shall i replace springs and shock absorbers or is there an alternate.
Thanks
Nick

What spec is your car? Elite with self levelling?
If not ...
its usually a new springs if broken job.
Or new shocks if leaking oil or losses damping.
Springs being favourite. An examination for broken off coils and or the correct spec should reveal the problem.

Mine was a bit low when I bought it I replaced the springs with standard spec and it certainly came up about 1 inch Not a self levelling car

As Chris says, really need to know your cars exact spec .
But as a guide all standard suspension should measure 675mm from the ground through the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel arch.
As WIM say anywhere between 670mm & 680mm is acceptable .
This 675mm should cover most models except MV6's & 2.2 Sport models which are 15mm lower at 660mm
Front & rear should be the same.
If your car is out of this range look furthur. . . . saggy or broken spring / s
Genuine Vx springs are frightenly expensive :( :( :(

Just because a shock passes MOT, does not mean its any good.
Broken springs should be picked up on MOT
Its likely to be one of those, either component should be replaced in pairs

Hi,
Sorry my computer got crashed and couldn't reply. I have 2.2 CD Auto. it does not have self levelling. I have checked the springs as well. they doesn't seem to be broken and no oil leakage. But springs and shocks were changed by the previous owner almost three years ago, just a month before i bought.
Can you guys please recommend the specs and springs I should buy now.
thanx!

You need to physically check the pigtails of the springs are in tact. If so, test the shocks (undo lower mount, then compress shock)

I used KYB Good spring Good price
