hi guys ive just bought an omega 2.2 petrol engine when i got it home the car wont start when i turn the key to start it nothing happens it just dont turn over but when it cools down it starts ok can anyone help in this matter
-
im thinking camshaft or crank sensor
-
will that make it as tho the starter is dead coz when you go to start it there is nothing happening as i said before
-
miss read post, check battery connections, starter and alternator.
-
it only does it when hot could it be starter selonide coz it turns over fine when cold or cooled down it only does it if you been out in it turn it off and try to start it it wont turn over but leave it for a while and then try again and it turns over and starts fine
-
might be ignition barrel playing up,really hard to say with out testing for voltage etc
-
had the same problem when engine hot. left car for 30 mins started no problem.
eventually found that it was a faulty crank sensor.

i thought they rarelt pack-up on a 2.2 :-\

Faulty crank sensor won't stop engine turning over.
-
dose any fault codes come up?

When stuff gets hot the resistance goes up and bad connections show more. :y
seen this before on a citroen bx years ago and it turned out to be starter solenoid. and once all had cooled down it worked again.
