Title: Campsites
Post by: Darth Loo-knee on 12 April 2008, 19:13:39
I am going to be buying a tent soon big enough for the Loo-knee family ;)
I have been to a few Campsites in Cornwall but we are thinking of trying Scotland or even France....
Can anyone recommend any nice sites they have been too? :y

As soon as you start to get halfway down France in the summer, canvas becomes a tad too warm...

South Coast every time.  But always in a static van (they call them cottage style homes)

Stayed there during the Le Mans 24 hrs many times. A very nice spot. Keep meaning to go there when it's not crawling with petrol heads. It's in a chain called Les Castels so if that one doesn't flick your switch have a look here: http://www.les-castels.com/en/

A bit further south, had a nice week here last year: http://www.info-gardasee.de/camping-molino/index.htm

Is there a certain size of tent that is acceptable on campsites?
I am looking but cant see anything saying otherwise, but was told yesterday that some campsites dont allow anything bigger then 700x400??????????????

When asked, we usually say its just a large tent for the both of us.....    ;)

Also, we reguarly use this site - http://www.blaircastlecaravanpark.co.uk/holidayhomes/conditions.asp - which is about 40 minutes north of Perth and in the middle of some really nice cvountryside.

Cheers Broocie that looks lovely... I have a week off at the end of May so will see if we can make it for then. My Nan went to Scotland every year and used to say that the weather was gorgeous in May... :y

Yes, some sites only have certain size pitches - I seem to recall one of the sites we were going to use last year before settling on Newent meant that I would have to have 4 pitches to put up my tent :o

Look at Keycamp.co.uk, we go to this site at  Pals, Northern Spain, just down from Estartit, campsite is called Cypsela, best campsite in Europe in my opinion, we'll be there June 16th to 28th, third time to this site.
