Title: 2.2 rear box
Post by: 78bex on 13 July 2012, 22:27:32
My 2.2 has been err, how can i put this?
Something appeared from the rear tail pipe in azders car park tonite :-[
As you do when something is hanging out... I pulled & pulled :-[ :-[
Mums veered their kids away..........as about 50 yards of curly wooly stuff  emerged
This must have happened before to someone, anyone?
it went very quiet and people were stareing.
Then I fired up that bad boy and now life isn`t so quiet anymore.
I`m currently storing my mig`s discharge in a shopping trolley several miles away.

You are lucky it came out when pulled ! back box has corroded internally and the wadding is coming out .. box needs replacing ..  the "other" scenario is the wadding all gets messed up inside the box, the exhaust cannot escape properly, pressure builds up until with an almighty BANG the box explodes .... but at least the engine runs better after the bang ..... :)

Been there got the T-shirt !!
