Title: ASDA 10% cheaper guarantee
Post by: STMO123 on 14 July 2012, 11:42:09
Now you can call me an old woman (I've been called worse) but I rather like this 10% cheaper thingy from ASDA. Just been online with yeaterdays receipt for £32 and got a voucher for £3.38 because tescos was cheaper. It's been running for ages but, being the cynical old git I am, I thought it would be a load of cobblers. I've put in about 10 receipts now and always got a voucher (ranging from 70p to £3.75).

Give it a go, you know you want to :-*

Sainsburys do it automatically at the checkout :y The slip either tells you what you saved on named brands or a voucher for the difference if Tesco or ASsociated DAiries are cheaper. The most was £7.50  :y :y

I'm becoming a grumpy old bastard just like Rick Wakeman and Geoffrey Palmer. >:(

What really pisses me off is downsizing a product without downsizing the price.

 100g of Douwe Egberts coffee........now 95g.......with the 200g jar reduced to 190g. Is the new jar 5% cheaper......Is it f**k. :(

Then we have  bags of sweets.....250g. Now often 225g.....215g or even 195g. >:(

Check out that  one litre carton of fresh orange juice in the fridge, many are now 900ml. :(

What annoys me the most is that the food industry insist on keeping the packaging the same size so that's it's easier to dupe the consumer. >:(

Don't expect the government to step in on behalf of the man in the street either.........The mighty food industry will eat them for (a 10% less) breakfast.  >:(

Ive got another for you Opti....

Bachelors cup of soup.....if you wanted plain tomato/chicken/mushroom you used to get five packets in the box. Then they went and changed the graphics on the boxes and hey presto you now only get 4 packets in the box for the same price  >:(

Douwe egberts coffee has indeed dropped from 200 to 190g, but when asda are selling it at £3 a jar what difference does it make?

Grumpy Opti,  :P

And another one is: Normal price, => 2 week special offer => then new price = normal price + 20% or more.  >:( >:( >:(

I do this all the time, even had a few receipts already in the trolley and put them through. The Mrs sent me in with a load at the last "big shop" one was for two pence, was a little embarrased at that one !
