Jon Lord died today aged 71. RIP and thank you for forming Deep Purple and providing all of us with truly great music.  :'(

So sorry to hear that. Deep Purple were the soundtrack of my early teens. He was a very good musician indeed.Classical trained but loved rock & blues.:(

he was a real gent,   I recorded him a few years back.....   truly nice guy to work with,   will be much missed by many people..... RIP Jon. 





also of note, legendary Bassist Bob Babbitt also passed away today.


it has not been a good start to the week for music.....

Jon Lord always came across as a genuine gent when interviewed on TV etc. Bob Babbitt - hard to think of a more versatile bass player. :y

I use to listen to it non stop , so much that i bought another . Had to resort to placing pennies on the old radiogramme's needle to make it play over the scratches  :) They were the "LAZY" days ...  bike booze and women  :(
