Miss Nickbat's Kindle screen froze about a month ago. Amazon immediately arranged collection and delivery of replacement under warranty. Great service, but....
...the replacement's just gone into deep freeze. :'(
Tried all the conventional methods to unfreeze, but no joy. Can't get in touch with Amazon as their phone system has the gremlins today. ::)
Most annoying. >:(

No, it's a keyboard version with a slider on/off.

That's great, but why should you have to do it? It's obviously a problem that needs sorting.

Yes, frequently. Still no good. :(

Does she keep it in one of the Amazons original leather covers, it might sound a bit strange but they have loads of problems with the clips on the cover messing about with the Kindle, mine included (just google it) Locking up and resetting itself.
Amazon will reimburse the cost of the cover, they did for me.
I would appear the problem is the paint on the clips, the new ones are plain metal, i have since scraped the paint off mine and its now working fine..

No, she doesn't have a cover and the unit is undamaged. She only reads in bed and hasn't dropped it on a hard floor. I think it's a design flaw. :(

my mrs one allways did it when she was reading a pdf file type, the new one has not done it yet but has a reset button on the back, only way to reset old one is take the battery out, and that involves a screw driver and a bit of patience.
