Hi all.
Firstly, does anyone know if its possible to get a replacement washer for an coolant expansion tank cap? My flat rubber washer has split and doesn't provide a particularly good seal unless you really welly it up tight. I know I could go to a MD and get the whole thing but there is nowt wrong with the tank and cap so see no point on spending 40 to 50 quid on a complete new tank.
Secondly, I have just fitted a new oil cooler, thermostat, stat housing and transfer pipe. Everything is fine as it should be, however since putting it all back together my service light has come on. I think its the service light? Its the one with a car and a spanner through it vertically, amber in colour.
Anyone have any ideas why this should happen?
Like I said, all is as it should be or at least seems to be................... :-X :-X :-X :-X
Cheers :y

Thanks for that, i'll have to take a look tomorrow.
Out of curiosity, I know a bloke who has the diagnostics unit that plugs in under the steering column. Would that give a deffinate answer as to why this light has come on? He charges a modest £15.00 to runa check on the system but if its inconclusive then there is no point.
Thanks everyone btw for the input :y :y

Save yourself £15 and do the "pedal test" http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90581.0

It would almost be quicker to get your hand around the back of the plenum to check the multiram connecter than get a diagnostic reader plugged in :y

Pedal test is cheaper.
However, if ever you get to Brackley, I have the proper diags kit for it, or with a bit of planning, get to Bletchley one weekday lunchtime ;)
-
Again, thanks everyone! :)
Like the pedal trick, deffo cheaper than getting my mate involved ;D
Anyway, is there a comprehensive list on OOF for the code meanings?
I have performed the test now and got three fault codes.
10 3 10 10
10 3 10 1
10 3 3 10
Looks like I still have things to sort out ::)

Sure that 3rd one is right?
First 2 are misfire related.

I'm breaking my 2.5 omega. You can have the expansion bottle cap for the price of postage if it's any good to you? (sorry mods, I know I'm not supposed to be selling stuff with a low post count but I'm actually giving it away)

Deffinately, checked and rechecked and all three readings are 100% correct. :y

Cheers buddy, very generous of you but I have since bought one from Ebay for a couple of quid. Thanks again though mate. :)

How bad is that Rob and how would I go sorting that out? Is/would it be something I could have done when doing the oil cooler change perhaps?

there you go :y

Could anyone point me in the direction of where the knock sensor is? I wouldnt know where to start looking TBH.
Also, am I likely to damage anything continuing to use the vehicle whilst this is going on?
-
0330, knock sensor 2 passenger side. Just below #4 pot on block, squareish connector. There should be a connector on a flying lead around the area where the main loom goes to the ECU box for the knock sensor.
Knock sensor actually plugs in on plastic cable tray running over passenger side bank of cylinders and drops down by dipstick tube. Find the connector then follow the screened cable to it.
