Yeah, got to the final 3 though, out of 22 people that went for it.

Had the final interviews last thursday.

Shame about the pay rise I wont be getting but at least I get to stay on my team, Turned out the job was not for the department you worked for but for the UK Entertainment team, which TBH I think would be a tad dull in comparison.

Oh well fingers crossed that the 22nd is going to be a good meeting a not a "Here's your p45" day

Id have thought that if they were going to give you your p45 they wouldn't waste time with a meeting. If you got to the final 3 you may be being groomed for something else .Good luck anyway :y

Right it's time for bloody war  >:(

Been on yahoo with some one in "the know" and found out why I didn't get the promotion.

My own Department head blocked it.

Turns out he's also blocked my requests to move to the Casino team and there Managers request to have me on there team  >:(

Nice to know I'm wanted on the team but thats 3 times in 6 months I've lost posts that pay much better...

Think it's time for a walk and a talk when I get to work

i would seek some advice and tread carefully in the meeting until you get the jist of why the meeting has been called.btw today is the first day that i have been unemployed since sep.1979 (when i was 19) it feels very strange.

oh dear :)

I wouldn't bet on it

How it looks is that I'm the only person in the whole firm with the skills and personal experance of UK Gambling Laws and Investigation work, and they don't want to lose me to another team, but the only way up for me is to take his job or make me a specialist, but there is only 2 other people who have that role in there own fields are there the kind of lads the God rings when he has a problem with a new planet some where, well above my level...

any way, going to have it out with the boss, need to clear the air on a few things TBH, and keep fingers crossed for the 22nd

if your the only member of staff with experience in that area of work id be inclined to make a bit of noise .They cant expect you to suffer in the pocket because your  boss is not in your class, so to speak.

Well I went in to work and went in to arsehole mode

point blank refused a investigation that got emailed to me

"Not my job, you need a senior member"

When my team manager asked what I was playing at, I told him

"Want to keep me on a 1st line wage and do a speacialst's job, your having a laugh, oh by the way here a letter for you"

I think he thought I had handed him my notice, but no it was better, a e-mail for the Operations manager (his boss) giving me over sight over all fraud cases handled by our office and that I'm now "teamless" so I anwser to the operations manager and work with what ever department needs me :)

So not on a specailsts wage, but a little higher than I was and I get to pick and chouse what and where I work.

So I spent most of the day abuseing the casino teams coffee machine till I had to mess with the net logs job, seems that in house stuff comes under my remit now so I need to learn that stuff.

On the whole, turned into a GREAT day :)
