Been looking (drooling) over a 02 plate LR Discovery in one of my local dealers. Looks absolutely lovely 68k FSH v8 comes in Rijoca (if thats how you spell it) red. Sounds sweet as a nut, unmarked interior & bodywork. Only downside is its got those horrible 20" wheels with mega low profile tyres (not really suited to 4x4's) & makes the wheel-arches look stupid. Wifeys already caught me looking at it & I'd probably get less of a tellin off if I were lookin at porn! :D
Thing is though I bought the Omega really as a stop gap but some 2 yrs later still am quite fond of it & would be sorry to see it go!
Decisions, decisions??? :-\ :-\ :-\

It was up for £3695 but no one bit, now reduced to £3295 which makes it more tempting. I'd LPG it of course too!

My mate had one of those, fantastic truck. We were in Edinburgh 2 yrs ago in the really bad winter when everything was stopped. The discovery just went about as normal, we were pulling cars out of ditches everywhere and eventually ended up towing an artic out, couldnt believe it. This was just running standard setup as well no fancy tyres or chains. Best thing I ever seen and very comfortable, would love one myself.

I'm guessing they'd let it go for £3,000. Possibly less if it's been hanging about for a while. :y

I had a Disco 1 on a '97 plate, before the Omega, that was lurverly too, it only had 60k on the clock & was pampered by its previous owner no rot which was unusual. I was gonna LPG that one til some buffoon drove into the rear of it & wrote it off >:(
Its been in the garage about 3/4 weeks no one had a sniff bar me Opti, garage owner said he couldn't shift it as no one wants big cars these days. Thing is though i'd have to sell mine too which, well I know I won't get much for. I want me cake & eat it type scenario but I'm stuck. I know it would be a godsend in winter especially if we have another like last year, but I'd have to get some proper wheels /tyres on it.

I have a Discovery II TD5. It's a great truck as long as you put up with the performance.
I'd look at the rear chassis and the traction control/ABS very carefully. Other than that, £3000 is about the lowest for a Disco II.
It's up for sale soon, just as soon as I've got LPG fathomed out for the Disco I that I have.

For me as well as long as the Disco that carried it was well inspected.
