Whether you agree with the principle of the idea or not, he was obviously afraid to release it on a slow news day. I do hope he dies a horrible death.

Much harder exams for our children please, but no teaching qualifications for those who teach them.

People will say that, because my wife is a head teacher, I'm against any of these changes. No. In principle, putting these people in the classroom is a great idea, but there is a method to teaching children. I certainly couldn't do it and I doubt whether lots of others could.

As for James Dyson, I don't think he'd like the drop in income ::)

He should know that you can't do a proper job without training. He's had no experience in education (apart from being regularly rodgered at public school) and look at the mess he's making. ;D

I’m not so sure Steve; many have suggested he is a sucker for a challenge. :-\ :-\

The thing I don't understand is how all these proposals can be made when Parliament is not sitting. ???

The self serving oiks have their feet up until September so how can these crackpot schemes be properly discussed and argued against in our so called democracy. A democracy that ignores the people, eg A Referendum on the EU, immigration, Scottish devolution etc.

As for education I totally agree with Steve, proper meaningful exams that display the calibre of the students, taught by professionals. You can't drum up the standard of the examination while at the same time drumming down the standard of the educators.

Never did rate the chinless wonder. He has a stick up his arse most of the time ( probably left there from his time at public school)

It's difficult for teachers these days. In my day the teacher would yank you from your seat and give you a bloody good hiding.

Never did me any harm....... ::) ::) ::) ::) ;)

Previously, an academy couldn’t have employed, say, James Dyson to teach design without him having done a year in a teacher training college.

Quite right too. He's a barrow-boy vacuum cleaner salesman who likes to masquerade as one of the pioneers of British engineering while his products are manufactured in Britain Malaysia. ::)

Ms Keeling once gave me a well-deserved thrashing. She was 24 and I was 16. Quite a happy memory now I think about it. ::) :)

Is this the same method millions of parents have used wth no trainng at all ? The average teacher at our local school is no better than a shaved monkey. As for the head teacher, if I had my way he would be 6 foot under. The rudest person I have ever met, he knows his teacher is wrong, can't handle so walks out of the meeting.
All the schools are interested in is uniform discipline and not having an individual hair cut. For goodness sake teachers teach, not look for silly uniform infringements, and somebody using hair gel.

And then wonder why parents are not as supportive as they once where.

Just based on our local school of course.
