There must come a time that the human body can not possibly run any faster.... when Bolt runs he actually makes everyone else look slow :o
-
he didn't even bother to sprint the full 100, took his foot off the gas at about 90mtrs :o :o :o

saw that. He looked over his shoulder, realised he was going to win & as you say started to slow down. Incredible! :y

World record on the cards tonight. And me Dad is there. Half way up the straight near side. :y

He certainly holds peoples interest within sport.
Will he break the world record in the Final...... I think so, he's a showman and why not when you are so good.
-
Nope. :)

The Olympic record is still quite a feather in your cap :y :y :y

Im due to go and watch him in the 200m on Thurs. although I will give my son first option as he is much more into sport than I am.
He was in about 6th place at around 40 metres,if he could start quick as the others its hard to imagine what time he could do.
-
Not only is he something special within his sport, he send a Great character too. :y
Alot of people slated these games before they started and yet I have enjoyed every second I have seen.
-
I was extremely apprehensive that we could organise a piss up in brewery tbh.
But it's been a fantastic event.
Bolt said in his interview he was worried about the start, having false started in a major event prior to the Olympics where you only get one chance or your out. So he sat in the blocks a little longer than he'd have liked.
But as his coach reminded him, he said, his race is not about the start, it's the last half where he really flys.
He could sit in the blocks until the rest have all gone and still win it seems. :)

The beauracrats who organised the ticketing, greedy corporations, greedy unions, egotistical politicians and that dick who organised the opening ceremony etc. made it a national embarrasment until the relatively normal (but hard working & talented) people who compete got there and turned the thing around into something that has generated a real feelgood factor for the country imo. :y

I was in Potters Field Park on the South Bank by Tower Bridge last night, where they were showing the athletics on a big screen. There was a huge crowd, and the atmosphere was electric!!! :y When Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah won their events the place erupted!! :y :y :y
Afterwards we repaired to a pub in the back streets which was jumping!!! and when they showed Jessica Ennis's medal presentation, everyone sung God Save the Queen!! :)
I don't think I've ever heard The National Anthem sung with such pride, passion and gusto!! 8) 8) 8) and I reckon we must have rattled the windows abit!!! :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y :y

I expect some nut will. ;D
Probably be faster than an old washer. ;D
Nut beats washer and bolt. ;D ;D ;D

I watched him win the 200m race tonight. It doesnt seem possible a human can cover that distance in under 20 seconds even though youve just seen it.The bloke is phenomenal, and a born superstar. Charisma just oozes from him, even from over 50 yards away.
The Jamaicans in the stadium (along with everyone else),lifted the roof off the place when he came out on the track, and they went absolutely berserk when he crossed the line.
Was a great day out,but Im completely knackered. :)
-
Oh yes, you where there, in the flesh.
That must have been quite some experience.
Did you see the 800 world record too?
-
Yep,saw that too.We were in the middle of the straight, above the medal podium, and the finish line just to the right .It was a pretty special thing to see tbh.Ive never been that into track & field sports but this evening was a pretty special experience.I finally got why people get excited about it. The atmosphere and roar of the crowd was superb. :)
Back for the closing ceremony in a few days, unless number one (and only) son wants to go instead. He went to the swimming last Weds. though so I might pull rank. ;D
-
Nope. :)
+1 :y
