It could be fan control is suspect. ie fans run at slow speed to start with, & then switch to high speed if that's not enough to bring the engine temp down enough. Could just be a minor point ......  :-\

Normal checks but main one being to check the coolant bottle for white/brown colour sludge .... if i found it had it i'd run away unless he took £200  ;)

Possible thermostat or as Andy said fan control issue.Wont be head gasket,so unlikely to be a huge problem. A lot of car for £400 imo. :y
Coolant tank looks ok as far as can be seen from the photo, but worth checking if viewing.

It's just that those who wanted a 3.2 manual had to be Plod.  ;) ;)

I was reading some where the other week that if Joe public wanted a manual you had to order one special ;)

In general 3.0 Omega Elites & the previous Senators would have come with an auto. A manual was a no cost option

A manual box on the 3.2 was never an option. Not on the options list.

Plod, with their buying power and relationships with special vehicles division, could order manual boxes. And LSDs.

Looking at the official options list right now. Manual Transmission not an option for the 3.2
