My girlfiend just bought me a Hyundai Sonata as my mig has been very ill with suspected head gasket failure.
The coolant leak on the mig was fixed with k-seal and is now running fine.
Do you think I should keep the mig or sonata?
I would obviously try and get another mig eventually! :y

Not my first choice of car but there is good and bad and when i say bad i mean friday afternoon before christmas. A friend of mine had Hyundai people carrier and in the year he had it he did about 45,000 miles and spent about £9000 on things like a new head and gearbox so he got rid when he got the chance. :)

Just what I was thinking ... drive the Sonata while the Miggy is fixed PROPERLY, then sell the one you like least - and I bet I know which THAT will be !! :)

Well if she sells the omega i think we would have to go round to her house and have a very long talk ;)

Irrespective of running costs etc, I know which body shell I would trust my (and my kids) lives in.
Just ask Mark DTM how his omega stood up to being run over by a truck.
Years ago when i was a yoof, i had a Nissan sunny. Nice and cheap to run, and reliable but no solidity in the body at all. Sold it before i crashed it and seriously hurt myself. The thin tin made me nervous.

i had a hyundai pick up a few yrs ago. column change that was hard to get in gear and the steering was as light as hell.
emergency braking at 35mph= fiesta and escort in front both written off. never felt safe in it in the 6 months i drove it.

Yes, it amazed me that it still ran and drove!

Thanks for all the advice. :y
I really want to keep the mig now! :-*

Miggy is much stronger and well known and also cheaper to fix in UK ..
Will never touch a Hyundai..

Very expensive parts, in my experience.. :-/

Exactly what we said when SWMBO had a Lantra ...
Cheap cars made from expensive parts.

I used to have a Hyndai S Coupe Turbo, great little thing, and to be fair was not bad to run parts wise for 12 months, swapped it for a MkIII Supra which was a big mistake on my part.
I find the Hyndai's from the last 4/5 years to be quite "ok" cars but any thing older is pure cack to be honest

I had a 1997 Hyundai Coupe 2.0 SE. I can honestly say one of the most reliable cars I ever had. Never let me down in the 3 years I had it.
Cost chuff all to service and in the 60,000 miles I clocked up in it all it needed was a couple of sets of tyres and front brake pads. Steering was precise if a little light and the gear change was probably the smoothest I have had in any of the cars I have owned.
Yes the interior had some dodgy plastics but so does the Omega. Their new Santa Fe has also been awarded best car in its class beating off the X Trail, CRV and Freelander so they have come on quite a way in recent years.
That being said, I don't think I would own any of the saloons or hatches from their stable.
