Can you use bog standard antiseptic cream that us humans use on a dog ?
I've a big hairy arsed german shepperd who has been chewing and licking a cut on his paw.
The cut is clean and is covered up with a sock when he is in the house but i'm just looking to help it heal a little quicker.

Yep - I use savlon on our dog with no issues.

Great :y
It has scabbed over ok but every chance he gets, he trys to lick / chew the scab off which just opens the wound up again ::)

So do we on our Labs for minor cuts :y :y

A dog breeder friend recommended Germolene to me, as dogs don't like the taste so they won't lick off. :y
I've used it ever since.

Salt water bathing is good for cleaning and treating minor wounds, as told by a vet many years ago when treating, my then cat, that had bite wounds from an unknown animal, presumed to be a Badger... :y :y

Savlon is safe enough. A lot of animal medicine contains the same active ingredients as human stuff, but with different flavourings to make them more palatable, so dog tablets are often a meaty tasting version of the minty human stuff!

Disclaimer: Before anyone sues me I'm not saying you should take dog medicine, seek proper medical advice if you are poorly etc etc

Bloody discusting stuff and smells foul :'(
Right, next time the mut doesn't do as he is told, i'll blather him in germolene :-X
That will teach him :D
ps ............ i'll give it a try since it tastes and smells so bad :y :y
I wonder if it works on 16 year olds :D
