.. the blank type for backups.
You get + and - types. What's that about and how do you know which type to get?
Cheers

have a look at http://svp.co.uk/. the support knowledgebase section has tons of information.
i buy all my blanks from them, and plenty of other supplies too! :y :y
specifically try http://svp.co.uk/helpdesk/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=69&nav=0,10

Mostly, it`s a backwards-compatibility issue:
The DVD+R is a newer format and not-all older 'standalone' domestic players will play them.....some do, some don`t.
Most PC/Notebook drives however, will play/burn them.
The Older DVD-R is a more 'generally' compatible format and should play in nearly all 'standalone' DVD players and PC/Notebook drives.
The +R format supports 'thumbnails' in the on screen menus whereas the -R doesn`t.
For Data backups, there`s not much difference `twixt the two types (providing your recording drive is specified use them)....it`s only really an issue if you intend to make DVD movies for your under the Tv DVD player....then Please read the manual to see which ones it will accept.

Best go for - and a GO5 dye. Try to avoid overprints -- like tuff disc and the like -- cheap but unreliable -- you will start a coaster collection pretty quickly !
