Its a joke now everything has got to be so politically correct its crap!!! Of subject a bit but friend of mine had a lot of problems with his mobile network provider after going in store to be greeted by stinking attitudes of people who cant be bothered to help you he told them what for, promptly left and came back the next day with a mobile phone signal blocker put it in his van and left it outside the store all week, fantastic. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

ive had a nightmare today, i think i'll stick to buying online now. sick of the ignorance of the staff in electrical shops

what are you trying to buy, if not a polish lap
dancertop or a 29k tv?

I was in PC world the other day and asked
"can I have a try of a Asus 701 EEE"
Spoty Youf
"Dont stock them, you have order it and send it back if you dont like it"
me
"Well what about that one on disply?"
Spoty Youf
"I don't think its what you want, its a bit small"
I left at this point...
BTW - I was looking a micro note book as a upgrade to my SPV M5000, oh and dixon where 20 quid cheaper

Went there for some backup tapes once (I know, but I was desperate).
"Have you got any backup tapes"
"Naah, mate. nobody uses them anymore, they just burn to CDROM"
"So, I have 60GB of data on a server which needs backing up every night. How many CDROMs will that need and who's going to stay up all night feeding them into the machine"
"<wibble>"
I don't mind them not stocking everything under the sun, but they are trained to try and sell you something you don't want in such situations. >:(

Last time I was in there I was after a projector, only about £4-500 worth of kit.
I asked an assistant to show me round what they had, Obviously they couldn't but another assistant could.
Soooo after sitting waiting for this "super assistant" for about 15 minutes my patience finally snapped.
Result for the online firm I bought it from, they even arranged to speed it to me for a presentation I had to do.
Pi**y world we call it.

its cos more and more retailers are employing under 18s to save money on wages, thus creating the huuuuuuuuge problem of "no people skills"
how many shops do you go in and speak to a member of staff who appears to respond as if they're reading off bloody prompt cards??
I worked in retail for 9 years and for the first year or so i lacked confidence in a pretty big way (sheltered childhood) but learned very quickly how to deal with all walks of life where people skills are concerned. i werent one of those people who could sell sand to the arabs, but even if a customer left my shops empty handed the first time they pretty much always ended up bein regular customers!!

I find it hard to understand. Shops must be losing out big time to internet vendors and the one big advantage they have to justify their higher prices is you standing before them wanting to spend your hard-earned.
You'd think they'd invest a bit more in giving you a decent service. >:(

you get it all the time with the store staff i keep telling our big wig bosses put em out on round for a fewdays or week at the most so that they can see what problems or requirements customers have and do the same with hdp staff so that we can be on hand to help with problems that might come up i.e. customers expecting you fit copper piping and new taps cause we are plumbers and electricians or tv`s being wall mounted when we are allocated 33 mins to install em....you pay peanuts and you will get monkeys..... >:( :o

I can imagine. I bet the sales staff will agree to anything to get a sale, and you have to give them the bad news when you deliver. >:(

I could live without VOSA trying to teach me to suck eggs. I've driven for a living all my working life & to be preached to by some ex security guard who earns half what i do but knows better 'cos he's attended a course, watched a video. I had a trailer with 10 months test prohibited because of a bad earth on a rear light. I got out, cleaned the connection, replaced the bulb, it worked fine but was still prohibited 'cos i should've known about it, so my Boss had to have the whole trailer retested with 10 months remaining. 3 days off the road waiting for a test date, no wonder i hav'nt had a pay rise in 4 yrs.
Yes a badly maintained HGV can be a deathtrap but stop patronizing us. Your'e not as clever as you think you are. The government pay your worthless wages which cost us taxpayers.
Get a PROPER job. :(

Yeah, sorry but i have to put up with it.
On a better note:- Bertie, thanks for the inspiration with fitting the wood dash to a lower specced Omega as i saw yours @ Telford. Took 4 hrs, heated knifeblades & alot of mess but we might be the only 2 members with full wood dashes & rotary controls.
I'm trying to stop ranting....honest!!!!!!!!! ::)
