Title: Police Auctions.
Post by: amigov6 on 16 April 2008, 21:10:02
Looked on a few sites after being told about them. Some want you to sign up and pay a fee but is there any profit to be made on cars/elec goods, bailiff repos, lost property etc. I've heard there's an auction nearby each month but not sure where to look.
   Any ideas? :)

If there was any viability in it as a money-making scheme, you'd be about number 10000 in the queue. ;)

been to one in Witney, was free to go and watch, think you can bid without registering too.

some bargins to be had.... small diesels going for retail prices, but big gas eating cruisers go cheap.

Saw 54/04 plate BMW 330D Estates go though for around 4-5k, cheapest on Autotrader is around 7.5k.

I think there's one in Grimsby, 7 miles away every other month. Would go & look with no money so as not to be tempted first time around, just get an idea. :-/

Been to a couple locally, they are held last Thursday each month at the car auctiuon site,

You need to buy a £5 sale list to get a numbered paddle to allow you to bid.
