Hi All
I brought my omega four weeks ago and already i have replaced the right arm and bushes it still needs pads and new tyres. Now my back windows wont open but my front ones do. Ive checked the fuses and thats ok can anyone guide me further. Also ive been told that the car needs a gasket between the engine and down pipe. When the engine is cold the EML light flashes on and off and i loose some of the power but once the engine has warmed up everything seems fine. Do you think this is the gasket? Its a lovely car and i really want to fix these problems its a 2.5 V6 GLS S reg.
Hope someone can help.
Best wishes
Sarah

Which switches are you using? The rear door switches can be turned off from the front green/red switch by the front set of switches. :y
Do the paperclip test & see what code (if any) you get. :y

You've posted in the right section Sarah - ignore him above ^^^ ;)
Sure you've not got the "Child safety" switched on?
Check Fuse 15 - although if fronts work should be ok

I don't think Andy was referring to getting paper clip info for the repair of the windows. ;D

As for the EML question, 'How to Paperclip test' and links to what the code indicate here:

Right, merged the 2 topics to save any confusion.
As stated, use the links in my signature to do the paperclip test for engine codes....should shed some light on that issue.
Did the 98 GLS have electric windows from new? have they ever worked for you, or just stopped working?
I presume youve checked using the switch on the door, and the one by the gear selector?
