Title: Yet more corruption...
Post by: Nickbat on 17 August 2012, 11:53:16
...back in 2009 [Tim] Yeo lobbied London mayor Boris Johnson to introduce an Age Limit for taxis, arguing that a restriction on the life of a cab was needed to reduce emissions. Boris agreed, and the policy was implemented the following year...

...The company chosen to supply London’s raft of brand-spanking new taxis was Eco City Vehicles...

...And who is Eco City Vehicles’ chairman? One Tim Yeo MP…

And they wonder why they are so hated. ::) ::) ::) ::) >:(

Whether or not Paul is on the money here (and I assume he is seeing he’s published this) I’m not in the least surprised given Yeo’s known record.

This type of self–feeding is reprehensible by any standards but to have it practiced so assiduously and blatantly by those supposedly in government to attend to the interests of the citizens of the country (rather than themselves) is a bloody disgrace and shows how incestuous the Westminster machine really is.

Forget about Europe – we need to clean up our own national government and get these bottom-feeders out the opps and into the gutter where they belong.

And I see this article in the Mail takes a much-needed swipe at Yeo, too.

We had something similar round hear about 15 years ago.

I was rewiring the house of the bloke who was in charge of the licensing for the taxis in this area.
He got his head together with his brother and changed the taxi test rules overnight.
No private cars over 5 years old.
Test twice a year.
Bare chassis  (no underseal or rust paint)
And a raft of other crap. >:(

The fx4 black cabs had there rules relaxed.

Guess who just happened to own a small chain of motorist spares shops in hull ?

Yup, you guessed it, his brother  >:(

I was also lead to believe that a family member was running the local vosa station at the time

Nice work if you can get it. I am surprised he isn't an EU MEP as well.
