Title: Number Plate Lamps u/s
Post by: 05omegav6 on 24 August 2012, 11:30:04
As above :-\

Have tried:

New bulbs
Tailgate wiring ok
Seems to be no power to number plate lamps at the tailgate loom plug in nsr quarter
Rear wiper works
Heated rear screen works
Tailgate central locking works
Sidelights working front and rear/left and right
All fuses okay

Only other light out is the bulb for the EML

TIA,

Electrically challenged of Sussex

Will...check connection in the pax foot well.

Going by 'tidlas' post there are no connections in the footwell area.
One is in/near the fusebox in the cabin, and the other is under the n/s trim that goes up along the windscreen, thats my understanding of his post anyway...

Should be a circuit driven by a relay switched by the headlight switch, then through the fusebox , across the dash, down pax a post, along pax sill and up the d post into tailgate :-\

working back from the lamps conection are:

1 lamp unit
2 plug within tailgate
3 plug in nsr quarter
4 plug at base of a post
5 fuse box

Thats all the joints  i've found :-\

On my previous Omega (saloon) the flexible wires by the boot hinge had snapped through stress fracture. I had to cut the wires back and solder in a new section.
