Two weeks ago today I put £80 worth of diesel in ready for a trip up to Durham, on the Monday going through Bishop Auckland on our way over to the Lakes I put another £40 in just because i've never seen diesel so cheap. Today the fuel light has just come on and we've covered 852 miles, the last weeks journeys have been mostly back and two across town. Approx 45mpg, not bad for a 1.5 tonne estate :) :)

That the 2.2 Pete? Never driven the diesel.....
I miss my LPG 2.2, £45 of gas used to get me 400 miles! :D

Yes mate. After the 2.5 diesel I didn't think I would like the 2.2 but its growing on me. I'll be trying to make it quicker soon ;)

Be interested to see how you get on, those tractors appear to be practically bullet proof!

If you keep on top of servicing - the inlets are prone to gumming up

I've got to do them on the estate but i've done them on my saloon and its not the nicest of jobs

I really miss my td :(
Even when I was in the v6, I missed how the td drove.

The low down torque makes them very drive able & in turn very economical. Changing gear at 1500 rpm keeps you up with the traffic, but keeps you below the turbo.
They move pretty quickly when you want them to as well 8) :y

strange! I just could not get on with the 2.2,it had no torque to speak of compared to my 2.5,it was slow noisy and i just hated it apart from the colour which i loved,it was just a strange instant dislike of the engine, dont know why cos it ran wellafter 600 miles i thought economy was no better than my 2.5,but without the ooomph!! ::)
-
I have to agree about the torque compared to a chipped 2.5 wheesel but I would say the 2.2 is on a par with a standard 2.5 :y

Had the pleasure of driving G's modified TD, with it's special "air con" button. Off the line for a diesel it flew! Struggled to keep up in the 2.2 petrol.
Btw G think I still have your ramps ::) ;D

Yeah use them quite a bit, using them again shortly to replace the exhaust on the 3.2 :)
Give me a shout when you are next over and we can sort something :y
