today we have had one dislocation, two broken bones (nose and finger) one brused wrist ( could possibly be broken, i hope the swelling goes down some time soon and one handed typing takes forever lol) and lost about 1 pint of blood with 999 on standby ( scared the hell out my friend she was supplying us cupas all day and keeping the kids out of our hair )
I now have nice new shiney wishbones, droplinks and discs on my miss miggy though. SHe has put up one hell of a fight today we reckon every thing on her was orginal we started at 10 am and it took us 45 minutes to get the bolts out the calipers. i had a friend doing one side and i was doing the other working trying to do it at a resonable pace. the passenger side wasnt too bad at un doing the bolts compaired to the female dog of a side the drivers was but then on the other hand the drivers side wishbone went in a dream but the passanger side well it took us 4 hrs toget the pinch bolt in bloody thing. finally started wrapping up at 9 pm tonight thank god i dont have to pay for labour pmsl
tomorrow all i have left to do is a full brake bleed, replace the coolant, rebuild the tow bar and find the gas leak. next week as soon as i can ill get her alignment done and then back to the garage for them to look at the remedial work carried out they required for us to get her uk lpg cert.
IM going to hurt like hell tomorrow to my knees are shot im liping round think its because i have been on them all day (i hope so lol)
there is one thing i learned today....................... i never EVER EVER am going to change a set of wishbones EVER again im going to pay someone!!!!! pmsl

I found wishbones aren't too bad when you have done them before, last set I changed took me less than an hour for both. Its also good knowing that you have done the job properly when you do it yourself. :y

GALMI = Get a little man in. Give him the hassle. ;D ;D

Very well done, Marie. :y :y
Even in my heyday as a young man I would have baulked at doing Omega wishbones. :-X
You've done more than mere bra-burning to show that a determined girl is a match for us blokes. ;) ;D

Read a lot on here about people struggling with wishbones, personally i never have a problem, although windy gun and crowbar do help!! usually takes about 45 mins per side, just have to be brutal on them!! ::)

JD.... really chuffed i have achieved so much with my car over the weekend its like driving a different car.
coolant flush
brake fluid change
tightened up the power stearing jublie clips as they wer loose,
changed the drop links
wishbones changed
new front brake discs and pads
moved the gas filler point from the towbar to by the petrol filler point.
moved the gas line out of the front wheel arch
found and fixed the gas leak on the vaporisor.
refurbed the towbar.
washed the motor
i must admit i can do a auto box change on a mig faster then changing the wishbones lol
next weeks jobs . return to have the remedial lpg stuff checked to get cert, get the gemetry set up correctly and get a back massage !!!!

well done. :y :y

New A46 is rather good I must say ......... Then A17 and cut up through Leadenham would be the best bit for the last lap I'd think.
-
think the sat nav made me use the A17 last time i ran up not to bad a journey tbh.
plus with lpg its not going to cost the earth to run up and down reckon around 460 miles a weekend 2 tanks of gas @ £70

Doh - of course - there is a turning off the A17 direct into Cranwell. I was thinking of getting there from here! STUPID me ........ You will be getting through oil changes on a regular basis as well and should make a set of decent tyres last a year or so. Lots of opinions on OOF about tyres - and everything else come to think of it :-X
-
Sorry, Marie...... :-[ :-[. I've just noticed I've called you by the wrong name.
Genuine mistake...Sorry :-[ :-[ :-* :-* :-*
