Use urinals.
On a serious note, it is sometimes women that make more mess. From my days in the hospitality industry, this was apparent. I will spare you all the grim details but basically women decide that it is not hygenic to sit on a public toilet....ah...disgusting... bla bla are the comments. So they hover, or worse, stand. Just so you know, this is not something I have observed firsthand ... colleagues have said this to be the case. Accuracy is then not the best. Next woman sees that it is "disgusting" so does the same. Pubs and clubs are the worst.

how very true, being an ex pub landlord ive seen the mess they leave. :o

I once saw a 'lady' take a pee standing up, she was wearing jeans and just undid the fly and angled her hips slightly...

probably you may know that our country have 2 different styles.. whenever I'm outside I definitely use the older traditional style.. in that one it doesnt matter you sit or stand.. but must add, doctors advice to sit to relax and... ;D

In regards to using public loos,how many times do you see a guy zip up then walk straight out the door? Disgusting.
I ALWAYS use a paper towel when touching the handle of a public loo door. And I also have a small bottle of alcohol gel in the car so i have a squirt of that as well.
Sounds a bit OCD but it really turns my stomach. >:(
