Post by: joff on 29 August 2012, 10:31:24
That's the last time i buy a new power sounder. March 2011 new power sounder fitted £70 from dealer, last night 28 Aug 12 went off twice, this morning is now in a bucket of water in the garage, and i will not be fitting another one. >:(

Might be worth checking your wheel nuts are still tight.

no reason why it should have gone off and yes the wheel nuts are fine, last one was on the car 8 years but this one starts playing up after 18mth, it has a date of 10/08/10 on it and made in Aus. So its just over two years old and starts the old i will wake you at 12:30 so i get up reset with key and go back to bed then one hour later same again, it is now off the car. When taken off it went off for about 1-2 min now not a peep.

Alternatively, check the codes from the alarm ECU to see what was actually triggering it and try to resolve the issue. It's unlikely to be the normal power sounder battery issue after such a short time, after all.

Then again, is there a date of manufacture on the sounder? Was it old stock? ::)

Took mine out a few months ago after getting fed up at having to get up two or three times a night. Prepared a bucket of water so as to keep it quite and not annoy the enemy's that live around and guess what? took it out and silence. On one hand happy on the other miffed would have loved to have p$$ed matey boy of next door.
