just had building regs chap down from council and after the wife give him a load of ear ache about bitch next doors extension, he informed us they havent actually signed it off yet till we get sorted, what does this mean?any one enlighten us? :)
-
i think that it means that they [the council]havent accepted that it has been built right or to the plans. this could be your chance to do somthing about her
-
we wont be that lucky, wife has complaints department onto it apparently this week, after they keep telling us that they have a lot of complex complaints to deal with! just to get her anyway without having to touch her will give us great satisfaction. even council fella told wife get her in court, but like she told him,if your planning officer had checked it at the start it wouldnt have come to this, and bitch is laughing at us. i hope we get some good luck just now. will not give up. :y
-
Indeed, until building regs have signed it off then the construction is not complete......and interestingly, probably not insured either....mortgage companies take a dim view of this to (as you have to declare an extension to your mortgage providor and also consult them before starting work)
Building control wont sign off an extension until it complies with the regs, it would be interesting to know the reasons for it not being signed off..........
-
well she has no morgage, we looked it up and her mother bought the house, its in her mothers name, she the one with the money, thats why the bitch can afford to do all sorts, we have checked a few things, we had to incase it did go to court, and as we know she will plead poverty, she got two good vehicles, when they moved here they werte like the clampetts! had nout. but that dont bother us, but when she decides to steal some of our property, and tresspass, well we not happy! think the regs chap more or less told the wife to get her in court, he said, i could sign it off whenever i want, next week or next year. think he is trying to encourage us to do something, but wont say it outright, do you think??
-
How much can you afford? It's all very well the Building Regulations chap telling you to go to court but how much will the intial outlay be?
Surely the responsibility lies with the Building Control to either approve or dissapprove the work the work. I guess being a council then you can't expect too much, in my experience they are all muppets, and that includes your local councillor!!! If I have occassion to complain to the local councillors I use the shotgun approach and do so to each of therm and copy the local MP, seems to get a response. :y
-
I agree, they all muppets, they wont get involved, because as they keep saying it a civil matter. but like i keep telling them if you lot had done your job, planning section, it wouldnt be a dispute, and if that cow had built off the bloody wall it would all be on her side! we noticed a large crack down her build, which like all the other shite that we have to look at on our drive, she wont see, so regs chap advised take photo, as she might blame us, already done that. and yes her build isnt finished on our side, it a bloody mess. according to bitch face she didnt want her pipes on our side either! but they are their, wife says when hers was getting built she went out all day, and left her builders to it, she never seen the mess we had in our drive, nails, dust, etc, now she will be in her palace all day watching our workmen to kick off if they leave any mess on her side. and we get told to ignore her, the wife is at boiling point now and had a belly full of the wicked witch!wife has thought about going to local paper, when we get a cock and bull story off the complaints department at council. >:(
-
Who's your MP ?
Might be worth having a word ;)
-
think it a lady called helen goodman, checked up her details and neighbour disputes dont go under her cattergory, but do you mean i should see if she deals with idiots who work at the council!and their wrong doings?
-
sent message to helen goodman about council, just see what she says, keep fingers crossed, will let you know what she says. keep fingers crossed! the wife is prepared to try everyone, we would like to get the whole lot of them, council, builders.and you guessed it the bitch most of all! the way we feel it wouldnt upset us if her whole bloody build had to come down, but that will never happen. pity!
-
had reply thanking me for contacting her about our problems with durham county council, she will contact head of planning today, but has told me it could take up to 28days till she contacts me with the outcome, not bothered we waited 8months already, that will be a breeze! hope we get invite to house of commons where she hangs out at! :y
-
You will be amazed how much a local MP will help if she thinks it will get her noticed in the media or down at the city hall ;)
Any elections coming up in your area ?
Pass on your concerns about the planning officer to her aswell ;)
-
cheers! not sure if she has anything going on at the minute, but will check up on it, i know what you mean, it gets her noticed more, but i not bothered, if she gives them hell, and she will get the planning offices name when she contacts them, and if not the wife will!and also tell her he checked it three months after it was bloody finished, we have it in an email we recieved from one of the many people we complained to. onwards and upwards!bet they sick of the wife putting more obsticals in the way, but then they will know how we feel, by all the obsticals we have to work round ;D.
-
In situations like this and pretty much any situation, I used to kick off all the time and tbh its got me into the sh*t so many a time over the years i've lost count ::) :-[
Bit of advise mate, kicking off won't get you anywhere.
As the saying goes ......................Keep Calm
And Carry On :y :y :y

the plot thickens with this one its a shame you could not find out exactly what is stopping them signing it off more so if they commented that they cannot until all your proposals are finalised/agreed
Having read through all the previous stuff re planning and re submission etc and totally bewildered as to the councils actions maybe the council has left the final approval open in case you went leagal as there are and will be obvious problem with your build which are a direct result of your neighbours actions and the way she has built her extension and of course approved by the council planning department prior to your application. There will be problems ahead and the council know it is a matter of record that you have previously objected and involved a solicitor to record these objections.
Be as cool as you can with the council remember you do not have to defend your objections thats your neighbours and the councils job. you are the ones who have suffered loss be upset but not angry and hopefully someone may fill in the missing bits of information giving you the bullets to shoot the bitch in the head :y
he who laughs last laughs longest
-
yea could do with columbo on the case! we have the founds in place, now for the steel and we are away with the pillers, we also have to build 85mils away from her build so there a gap, she knows when the scaffold goes up that is when she has to get a builder/roofer to remove guttering,i dont want to converse with her, she knows the score, but we are waiting for another excuse, like, you havent given me enough time to sort it out, or i have no money, her last excuse was i am getting married and have a holiday booked, so we kind of preparing for a pack of lies, she never did get married!shes up to something, a lady was there today with a black file with papers?we have surveyer coming tomorrow to hopefully find out where boundary line is, as lad who lived their 10years ago asked if he could remove hedge and put dwarf wall there, we think he crept over slightly onto our drive, but we were not bothered, didnt think we would have issues later, it didnt effect us, but obviously does now!she has had 8months to remove it and wont, bitch! >:(
-
just had surveyer out, he checked deeds ect, luckily bitch was out next door, took measurements, photos, he also came up with what we have said all along, that if it is what he thinks, then the way he thinks the boundary is then she has took the equvilant of 4inchs of what we think is our half of the wall, he is going to do a prelimeny report, then take it from there, he said we should have had a signed agreement from her for the party wall, but we had nout, but grief! he said she will have to get a surveyer, the wife couldnt stop laughing, thats a joke, she hasnt even got a solicitor, and yet she threatened US with court!she got it all for nout, now it payback time we hope!got in touch with another solicitor who i knew a while ago, did some work for me, and he said ring him later and he will help all he can, might even pop in he passes our house on his way home :y
-
hope you get some good news at last :y
-
It'll be funny if she has to knock it down ;D ;D
What's 4 inches worth ::) ::)
-
;D ;D ;D ;D be the hardest 4inches of her life :o
-
go on mate take her for everithing shes got
-
This is a great post, very entertaining though not much fun and undoubtedly very stressful for both you and your wife . Cant wait to see how it pans out and she gets her comeuppance !
-
Make sure you stay indoors on 31st of October when she is whizzing around on her broom stick try to put a curse on you and your wife. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
well, spoke to solicitor, and he said to take her to court would cost us in the region of 30grand! no guarantee we win! he spoke to wife and told her to keep out the way and have no contact with her, as if! he seen this many times and neighbours actually put eachothers windows out, now theres a thought!wife asked how come the bitch can sit tight and not respond to court action. answer..... because she doesnt have to, she got what she wanted! we basically wasting our time trying to fight her over the party wall the cow took it! we been shafted, and it happened when i was at my lowest, recovering from cancer, the wife is upset, she says i hope she rots in hell, anyway he putting us in touch with a barrister who retired but will come to our house and tell us how to go about it, then if he thinks we have good case take it to court. he even said we cant touch the guttering box as it be criminal damage! and i think she has put a spell on us as we had no luck since she moved their, >:(
-
try and find out why the council building control have not signed off her extension.
Having read through in depth part 1 i did speak to some people i know but unfortunatley although all coments in your favout no real course of action well not thats repaetable ;)
i was really hoping some one that knows the leagal system would find a way foward for you and give you the retribution you deserve.
unfortunatley those that have no honour know how to use the system to thier advantage
chin up sorry the news was not good at the end of the day i hope something may go in your favour. At least you and your good wife have a united front and have been gernuine, whats she got, a peice of land the last laugh will always be on her :y :y
-
thanks for your help paul, and knowing that we are the kind of people that basically try to do things right and yet we feel like we are criminals, where is the justice? never mind at the end of the day we have a clear concience, more than she ever will, and it only a building, me and the wife have had some real shouting matches over this, but we will still be together, if she thinks she has the perfect relationship, i will have the last laugh! he a sap, and has 3 other kids to 3 different women, and bitch has kid to other fella and one with the sap! and her ex lives with one of his exes! work that out, match made in heaven i would say, look out for them on jeremy kyle, the police dont get called for no reason! bide our time, the sap will get some sense some day, because she evil! ;D

Don't get depondent yet, you have just had a point of view from one persons opinion from the legal standpoint. You still have irons in the fire, planning regulations and the MP along with the surveyors report. You can't just grab a piece of somebodies land so don't despair. :y :y
You must at all times remain Calm with this woman, you and the wife should just ignore her totally and communicate via your solicitor, it will cost for each letter and phone call but in the long run your behaviour will not go against you, but in your favour. I guess you could use an independent third party to send her polite letters on your behalf.
Go for a long walk with the wife and scream at a few cows in a field then a country pub :y :y :y
-
thanks cleggy! what you say makes sense, and probably somewhere down the line we will get justice., the pub near us sees us quite a lot lately! we try to be upbeat, but then this problem always takes over, i just hope she realises that when our extension is finished, we will still be next door and the wife wont let this pass as she probably hopes she will, what goes round. comes round. and yes i will keep you all up to date with all activities and every detail! its good to talk about it even if it just this way! thanks. any more help or advice will be gratefull :y

Very good advice from Cleggy! :y
I took a couple to court last year and they actively tried to get me to go round and kick off so that they could tell the Judge what a nightmare I had caused them. Although I was sorely tempted, I resisted the temptation and communicated with them solely by letter (recorded delivery) and kept all the nasty texts and voicemails that they had sent me. Eventually, they made a false accusation to the Police of harassment and intimidation, and when the Police phoned me I insisted on going to the station to be interviewed. I told the story, showed them the texts, played the voicemails and the Police apologised for wasting my time!!! ::) The couple then had a visit and an informal chat about their behaviour!!! :y By the time it came to court they knew they'd lost!! :)
As Cleggy has said, don't talk to her, communicate solely in writing and keep a diary logging everything that happens!!
The bottom line is that people who try to cheat and scam their way through life usually aren't particularly clever and with patience, persistence and determination you'll get the upper hand as this woman will trip herself up at some stage!! ;)
-
thanks tiggerhayes, i feel a lot more positive now when i hear other peoples dealings with nasty manipulative peolple, the nasty cow next door put a note threw our door in february, stating how much grass out the front she owned, and wrote, PIECE OF ADVICE GET YOUR FOR SALE SIGN BACK UP!as we had it for sale but choose not to have sign up the second time, because as you know when i was poorly we took it off market, then just had it for sale on websites. wife has cherished the note, and is if we have to going to produce it to the right people! the moral of the whole situation is, with us out the way she can keep the tresspass and guttering and live happily ever after! it has not all gone her way, and its up to us to let her know we wont be bullied by a malicious little troll!her partner probs wishes they hadnt moved here, well so do we! we been here 25years, she, the witch arrived on her broomstick two years ago, funnily enough near halloween!wife made her welcome, put card threw, with hope you settle into your new home, god little did we know that she wanted to settle into our home as well! watch this space, it better than watching coronation street! well she the equivalant to tracy barlow, she a bitch! ;D
-
she just tried to get a reaction off me at the front, we had skip, told me i was on her grass! i walked away from her, she a nutcase. the wife went off it, but told her to stop in the house, solicitor rang, wife in tears with anger, he said thats exactly what she is wanting, a reaction, dont fall for it, then she get you done!think i would prefer moira hindley living next door! >:(
-
tiggerhayes, if you dont mind me asking, how long was it before your case went to court? roughly how much did it cost you? and i hope you won! we decided to have this barrister come to our house and go threw everything with us, the wife would like to see her rot in hell and see if the cow has the gumption to stand up in court and lie. but with me its the money, why should i pay thousands out for that selfish cows wrong doings?and for her to possibly get off, and we pay for her. she has not spent a penny, just sat laughing at us, and that is maddening. even solicitor swore and said i know you are good people and she a t...
but rise above it, dont make yourselves ill over it,espesially me after what i been threw. get on with your lives, she will come a cropper at some point, and make sure you are their when it happens :-\

That's the way to do it, just ignore her or you could politely have told her to take it up with the skip hire company who placed it there!
Don't let her get to you :y

Get yourself a cctv camera to collect evidence for any upcoming court case :y

A discreet one so she doesn't know it is there, and it'll make sure you and yours are on your best behaviour :y

Just remember, the camera will be on her face but if its set up right it will record only your back ;) ;)
Have fun matey :-X :-X :-X
-
where will we get a discreet camera from?that cow probs already have one, but having said that she wont have the money!poverty stricken. wife emailed council and thanked them for all the help in creating this mess, and that the cow wont remove tresspass, so if bitch faces build hasnt been signed off then ours wont either because we cant touch it! >:(
-
I have used these in the past :y
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CCTV-Wireless-Hidden-Color-Night-Vision-Security-Camera-/300648895151?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item46001212af
There about 3 inches across and don't do a bad job for the money but you will need something to record the video on ;)
How much do you want to spend (not a trick question) ?
-
No link there ;)
Be aware that if you set up CCTV Cameras you must ensure that they only record your property ;)
They must not encroach on her land at all or it is an offence ;)
-
just been looking at different types, we would have to put it on our garage, out the way of our hopefully getting built extension. that way it could be looking over her/our wall, thats where i used to try and talk to her over the fence, and it will catch her slamming her door, when she spits her dummy out! or where do you suggest? :y

As Lazydocker said, you set it up to cover your property and front ;)
Then feel free to wind her up infront of your house while she is on camara ;)

will run it passed the wife, she will probably want to throw a hand granade over and then the wicked witch will go to cansus, and back to the wizard of oz!then follow the yellow brick road to hell, then she probs claim the road is hers! ;D
-
I think Maplins do some cctv kit if you have a branch near you
-
It looks like you can get a decent system for around £100, wireless as well. :y
-
My mates old next door neighbour complained about the shed he built down the bottom of the garden. being an x builder he waited till he finished then had council round. he had to take 2 courses of blocks off to lower it. should of seen the state of it afterwards. and he was a barrister too who thought he could do what he liked. ;D
-
going to the pub later and we will decide what we going to do, know what the wife would like to do,but thats another chapter, even the poor fella who dropped our skip off couldnt believe what a bitch she was!he said to the wife, well was going to tell her she had a brake light off, but not with that attitude, stuff her! she got more than a brake light off, she got screw loose, we probably get the blame for that as well! ;D
-
hope it not the same barrister we seeing next week! ;D
-
Have a word with the skip lorry driver and see if he could select the wrong gear and reverse into the front of her house ;)
After all, accidents do happen :-X :-X :-X
-
Michael, My court case was a different kettle of fish to your situation. I was after monies owed and this couple were trying their best to wriggle out of it. So it was a small claim in the County Court, I didn't use a solicitor, it took about 6 months and my court costs were about £350 which they ended up paying on top of what they owed me. The principal is pretty much the same though!! Although if you do go to court, the costs for this kind of dispute will be in the thousands..... :-\
Here's a thought! Have a look on facebook and see if you can find her on there, she may be ranting about you in much the same way as you are here!!! :) Don't try and become her friend though!!! ;D The couple I took to court claimed they didn't have the money to pay me, but I was monitoring both their facebook pages (They didn't have any privacy settings on!! ;D) and they posted loads of photos of a holiday in Greece during which they got married!! It all looked very expensive!! The bloke also posted some personal stuff about me. I had printouts of this and the photos in the courtroom with me and the looks on their faces was worth more than getting the cash!!!! :y :y :y
-
the wife has looked on facebook for her. under her maiden name and supposedly her married name, but there nothing, and the wife dont go on facebook unless she has to. me oldest daughter used to talk to the bitches boyfriends cousin on facebook. when he found out we lived next door to them he knew not to say anything, they dont talk now! its a tricky one, and she will say she has no money to pay us for the 4inches wall if it proven in surveyers report, its kind of taking over our life, the wife just wont let it go, and it is making us argue, i said to her tonight, what will we talk about when it all bloody over! yea its a risk, but if we have solid evidence, and she has none, well, its a gamble. how can you get blood out of a stone?you had that couple by the short n curlies tiggerhayes! they didnt think it threw! bitch next door has all day to plot and sceme with the help of her mother, another bitch, wil let you all know as soon as get answer off surveyer where we heading with this mess :(
-
got letter today from the house of commons! helen goodman, she contacted the council and is awaiting their excuses, she states she is concerned why this happened, am i right to persue this?do you think the council will actually admit they cocked up? the wife well chuffed she got an importent letter! just hope we not making fools of ourselves. also got report off surveyer, will have to read it a few times, it confusing, just wanted a straight forward answer for the 180 quid i paid! probably wants to drag it out just like everyone else, but that dont get rid of bitches tresspass and doesnt get our extension finished, got bricky starting on monday, and wont take long to get to where bitches guttering box is, any ideas?thanks :-\
-
The MP should stir up the council, as for the builder I'd leave him to get on with his job, which is to finish your extension. :y :y
-
dont want to rain on your fire but as from today they have relaxed the planning laws so you might be on a loser now.
-
dont want to rain on your fire but as from today they have relaxed the planning laws so you might be on a loser now.
But not building reg's. So any work will still need a plan, inspections and be signed off
-

I doubt it's retrospective, unless you're a pikey that is!! ;)
-
the planning laws must have been none existant when she did that to us, anyway i complained months ago, so it should count for then but not now?so that means we can build on her property now then! :y
-
yea pikeys can do what they want, just going to live in a caravan and put extension on the side! ;D
-
yea pikeys can do what they want, just going to live in a caravan and put a 7 bedroomed extension on the side! ;D
Fixed that for you. :y ;D
-
strange, as i received email today from complaints department at council saying they were now dealing with my CONCERNS! unless helen goodman has waved a magic wand and our luck is changing, but dout it, time will tell, every one keep your fingers crossed we get some satisfaction. :-\
-
The new planning proposal only counts for rear extensions upto 8m from the house.
In reality a waste of teim as the planning is the cheap bit, its the building control that costs!
Good to hear that something is happening Michael.

Oh yes :y
Some MP's do have uses ;D ;D ;D
Just remember, lay it on thick with here but don't kick off and don't get personel ;)
It works better that way :)
-
yea, we are keeping calm, even the wife! bitch next door hasnt a clue what this could lead to, if only she had stayed on her side of the wall, as she was supposed to then, as we did, could have all got along. the trust has gone. will let you all know what happens, if anything! will kick off next week when the brickie starts work, the wife will have to go in the attic to keep away from her, i will have to take the ladders away so she cant get back down! ;D

Not many, but a good constituency MP can do alot, especially in this electronic age. I bet their Intrays have grown leaps and bounds from the days when then only way to get them to do anything useful was to visit them in a surgery. Don't forget the grovelling thank you's for her precious time when this is sorted ;) ;) ;D
Things are moving at least :y, as for your better half a long holiday maybe ::) ::) ::) ;D

helen goodman has an office in bishop, mite pop in and have a cuppa! and tell her how great she is, and take some photos along of the beautifull view from our drive! :y

You do not have to use th coucils building inspectors. There are many other companies now doing inspections at a fraction of council costs. At least that happens around these parts. :y
-
they are shite round here, the wife told them did stevie wonder work at the planning! didnt even get a reaction! ;D
-
about as much use as a handbrake on a boat :y
-
or you could have given them a tip
dont scratch your arse with a broken bottle

just found out our ex next door neighbour who is an ex copper, where he has moved, is having dispute with his neighbours! apparently over who owns the road that leads to their properties, i said if you hadnt bloody moved we all be happy and no disputes! also according to building control, you can build on someone elses land! so i said, ok then i will get my van and fill it with bricks, and build a wall outside durham county offices! solicitor said he was going to build a house in morrisons car park then. i got all this in a snotty email off them when it all kicked off 8 months ago. makes you wonder who to believe :-\
