Post by: mdziyaad on 03 September 2012, 12:17:43
Ola!
i'd like to know what kind of tweaks i could do on my elite, it's a daily runner and i'm pretty much on the highway averaging 60 miles + on distance and cruising between 80 - 90 mph

Danke!

sorry, was a bit too vague! well, i would want to decrease the gear ratio so that it could rv aroun 2500 - 2800 rpm @ 90 Mph.. that sort a thing

You'd need a different Diff, all the ratios can be found on this site :y.

Only real option to lower the gearing on the 3.2 with a 3.9 dif is to fit a 4.2 dif from 2.6.

It works well, but you'll see higher rpm at cruising speeds, which can be tiresome for some. Although I don't notice it tbh. Mpg may increase too.

OP want lower RPM, not higher. ie, less acceleration (well, I'm sure he doesn't, but thats a by-product).

A TD 3.7 diff may be the way to go.

Or a 3.45 diff from a dti... Assuming it can take the power of the 3.2?  :-\

using a lower ratio differential and 3.2 is pretty useless.. by a 1.6 and go slow ;D
