Is your car a 1994 or 1995?

Thought they all had them as standard

Do they not have any of the loom pre wired in that a kit could be added and maybe work out better/easier for installation.

Emma's MX5 has a Cobra alarm. Car is now 8 years old and had no bother from the alarm whatsoever.

We can halve a look next weekend. Could be the power sounder has died and someone's disabled it.

I have a GLS like Marie and dont think they have an alarm fitted.  They have the dead lock and central locking.

I thought the tell tale might have been the alarm button like seen on the Elite dash (allthough my only Omega experience is the GLS so far)

My last post (this thread) was thinking an alarm could be added with the Alarm module, dash button and Alarm key (only my thoughts)

http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUK266&q=Vauxhall+Omega+Alarm&um=1&ie=UTF-8

Saw the parts here which was why I went down this train of thought.

Has it got sensors on the door posts? and would an alarm off a 96 reg fit the later ones?

Thinking about it, I remember seeing the connector for the power sounder under the scuttle when we fitted LPG, so I'm guessing the wiring is in place if the alarm bits aren't.

The alarm is usually a function of the central locking ECU, so either you need to change that (and reprogram the remote keys to the new one) or maybe the alarm functionality is there but needs a Tech 2 to enable it once the sensors and sirens are fitted.

sounds like the alarm aint fitted to the gls then, but if the wiring is there you could probably buy the bits from someone who is breaking a car in the for sale section :y

Been out all day but out of sheer interest I pulled the covers from where the door piller sensors would be.  No wiring there at all.

I was remembering that someone told me years ago that they did a lot of standard wiring so that the dealers just had to plug relays a fittings in for the optional extra's.  Maybe it was just for the fog light kits etc.

They wouldn't dare!

I thought alarms were fitted as standard... you'll probably find its been disconnected. Hopefully for you... it'll be cheaper and less hassle with the other half..lol ;)
