Title: x20xev engine oil
Post by: omegacroatia on 06 September 2012, 13:40:18
Omega 1997  x20xev engine 100KW, after oil changes in engine fit 3.5 - 3.7 l GM 5W30 oil and shows maximum.
Please help and explain, because by all accounts should fit 4.5-5 l
I drive Omega 7 year and evry time same quantity of oil
My apologies because English is not my first language.
Thanks and greetings to all forum members.

My good lady had a 1995 x20xev.
It had the single-piece sump rather than the butterfly-shaped one.

It always took quite a bit less oil to fill than any information suggested. Around 4 litres I think

At one time I thought I might have the wrong dipstick for the car, but it got very confusing after that.  Vx claimed that with my engine number it should have had the butterfly sump, which would have been a different dipstick, I think.
I even bought the alternative dipstick, but when I looked at it, that would have shown 'fulll' with even less oil in the engine, I seem to remember. So I never used it. Gave up worrying about it.

Thanks for your reply
I googled a bit and found that there are three different sump to model x20xev and as I covered more than 100,000 km and I'll stop thinking about it.
I do not know how to upload pictures but if someone needs to send in the mail
