Title: Bad day...
Post by: danzigfan on 11 September 2012, 15:52:47
....an older man decided to add some extras to my omega today

Though I wasn't there when it happened, he called the police, report damage and left me a notice with his phone number and name.
That shocked me even more then a sight of damage on the omega. I hope insurance will cover the damage on my old lady, she really didn't deserve it  :'(

....in these times I wouldn't be surprised if only note written on that piece of paper was :"I'm writing you a note so that others who saw what happened think I left you my phone number and address ... I'm really sorry"  ;D

bad news :(

good to see someone with high moral values..

imo, a second hand door from breakers would be better than trying to repair it..

To save money on your insurance renewal next year get the other party to buy you another door then fit it and get it painted at his cost.
even tho you havnt claimed its still classed as one and goes against you claim history and insurers will charge you more next year.

....Different insurance laws around here, makes it much cheaper for him to admit his fault at insurance and loose 5% of "no accident bonus" than buying new door and respraying it.
However....I DO have a sinister plan about using insurance for damage repair (and paintjob on all four doors).... I hope this plan will pass....we"ll see

Update :
Went to insurance company today, car is estimated as total damage, according to evrotax valuation it's worth 1,000e , they will pay to me around 600 euros ( :y) .
I've allready sourced all four doors in very good condition for 200e just need to wait for the money to come. If I succeed as planned, it will be as good as new
