Noticed for a while but wanted to be sure.
Driving along at 20mph and lift the throttle, get a thumping sound. Car is 3.2. Software is version 8 and oil, although not checked, was last topped up in May and no signs of leaks.
I hate cars >:(

Is this something new or has it always done it?
Mine has a range of speeds around 20MPH where it makes a jerky change if you lift off. Could be the case that they all do it.

Think its new, noticed it 2 weeks ago. Mileage is 48.5k
Hopefully Kevin its something normal on these cars ;D

Ours does the same around 20 mph too.

I can't believe it's got mechanical problems at that mileage.
Could it be a "feature" of the new gearbox firmware? That's only been done a month or two, after all?

You could be right, I wonder if others can confirm.
I remember a while ago a member here called 'bigmecube' had his gearbox updated along with fluid changed and then reported thumping at 20mph
