Title: NCDC 2013 radio not working
Post by: martin341 on 27 September 2012, 17:45:03
Hei!

Car: Omega MV6 Estate, 2000.

Radio(FM) not working. Also ABS and TC lights are on most of the time( but not always) and therefore speedometer is not working. When the lights go out all gauges works and i can hear the differeny in the music sound( it goes louder and when i accelerate it goes even louder but if i brake, the sound goes down :() The radio(FM) stays dead.
One more thing. There is a word GPS written on the top right corner of the display. Does it have to be written in white if it works? Mine is red, so doesn't work?

All help appreciated,

The radio/stereo faults are seperate to the speedo not working.
Speedo and ABS/TC faults are down to the ABS pump, it has an Electronic Control Unit attached to the side of it and these do develop faults, you could try cleaning it's wiring connector to see if that helps but usually best to fit a re-furbished item...

As for the stereo, the word GPS should be written in green, it sounds like you have a problem with the aerial connection, either on the roof or at the back of the stereo unit. Also another aerial connector in the passenger compartment, down by the footwell.

What parts of the radio do not work? Just the radio? CD?

Oh, and is the car a saloon or estate?

The car is an estate, so no fm reception via the rear window.

The car is an estate, so no fm reception via the rear window.
So no GPS and no Radio could point to a knackered roof aerial ;)

Sounds like the lack of speed pulses are affecting the SDV function of the headunit
